On the sides there are elongated hairs hanging down and forming "sideburns". The muzzle is short, the eyes are wide, with round pupils and a yellow iris. The ears are wide at the base, with long tassels at the tips. The limbs are long and strong, the paws are large, with very wide fingers, connected by webs and light claws. The lynx is a solitary predator. It leads a very secretive lifestyle, hunting mainly at night and at dusk. Thanks to the “tassels” on their ears, lynxes are perfectly oriented in space and sense their potential prey. The lynx usually moves at a light pace, it climbs trees and rocks well, swims well and is capable of making large jumps. However, it is not capable of long runs and gets tired quickly.
