Susan Pevensie, also known as Susan the Compassionate, is the daughter of Eve and the second of the Pevensie children. Along with her brothers and sister, she ruled Narnia during the Golden Age. As the bird flew away, Susan was the first to notice a strange creature behind the trees. It turned out to be Mr. Beaver. Susan agreed with everyone else that they should follow him further, and the children followed him into the thicket of the forest. There he showed them Lucy's handkerchief, which he had received from Mr. Tumnus, and led them further to the dam. Inside the house, Lucy and Susan helped Mrs. Beaver prepare dinner and set the table. After everyone had eaten, Mr. Beaver began his story about Aslan and the White Witch. Susan was very surprised to learn that Aslan was a Lion. However, Mr. Beaver was sure that they had to meet him. No one noticed that Edmund had left the house. Susan did not immediately believe that her brother had betrayed them, but Mr. Beaver and Mrs. Beaver were adamant. They began to pack immediately, fearing the Secret Police. Mrs. Beaver filled a bag of food for everyone, and they set off. The narrow path that wound along the bank of the frozen river was very difficult to walk. After a few hours, the children were very tired and with difficulty climbed into a cave, where they spent the night. In the morning, they were awakened by the sound of bells. Mr. Beaver climbed out and a minute later called everyone to follow him. The children and Mrs. Beaver climbed out of the cave and saw Father Christmas. As a Christmas present, Susan received a bow and arrows, and also a magic horn. The White Witch's magic began to weaken, and when the children and beavers approached the Stone Table, a carpet of green grass spread around them. Seeing Aslan, Peter asked Susan to come to him first, but the girl pointed out that he was the eldest among them. Peter was the first to greet the Great Lion and told him about Edmund's betrayal.
