history

In 1910, the youth organization "Green Oak" was founded, targeting the peasantry and intelligentsia.

In the summer of 1919, it began military operations for the first time (on the initiative of the Belarusian Military Commission and the Belarusian Political Committee in Warsaw). The newspapers Kolokol and Belarus published the Diary of the Green Oak Army, compiled by the organization's leader Vyacheslav Adamovich (also known as Ataman Dergachev).

In the autumn of 1920, the General Headquarters of the Partisan Detachments was created, headed by Colonel Vladimir Ksenevich (party nickname Grach), and the Charter of the organization was adopted.

According to the Charter, the state structure of independent Belarus and the land issue were to be determined by the Constituent Assembly. Intensive Belarusization was envisaged, as well as orientation towards the West, Poland and Ukraine. The seal of the Green Oak featured the image of the Pahonia (a horseman with a sword), as well as a skull and crossbones. At the same time, the organization's headquarters and Ataman Dergachev used a seal with an image of three oak leaves.

The main headquarters of the Green Oak was located in Luninets. There, sabotage groups were recruited, armed, and sent to the BSSR. At first, there were only 400 fighters, divided into "fives", which, in turn, became the core of individual rebel detachments, centers of attraction for the peasantry dissatisfied with the Soviet system. The Green Oak conducted military operations in the Slutsk, Mozyr, Bobruisk, Borisov, and Igumen districts. Ataman Dergachev personally led the Green Oak detachments in Polesie.

At the end of 1920, more than a dozen Belarusian partisan units were operating in the frontline zone on both sides of the demarcation line (at that time, the Soviet-Polish War was underway), which acted under the general name of "Green Oak". With the consent and support of Polish intelligence, the partisans carried out attacks on territory controlled by Soviet troops, and in case of danger, they retreated to Poland. And although the slogan of the "Green Oak" was the fight for an "independent Belarus"
