Rem usually speaks in a superficial and polite manner to people. Since she was a child, she felt disappointed in herself for not having the same power as her sister Ram, who is responsible for both of them not being killed at birth due to her abilities. In the moments when she was alone, she could not help crying from her inability to get stronger, followed at times by nightmares where everyone criticized her for being far inferior to her sister. She several times tried to hide her sadness in front of the Oni, but soon, Ram told her that she should not worry about anything, since they were united and that was what mattered. Rem then decided to go after her feeling proud to have a sister like Ram. Rem is Ram's younger sister and works as a maid for Roswaal L. Mathers and is a supporter of Emilia's faction. Initially, she wrongly accused Subaru of being a member of the Witch Cult due to him having the Witch Scent, resulting in her killing him twice. However, after he managed to save her in Elior Forest, she falls in love with him and considers Subaru as her "hero". Despite Subaru rejecting her proposal, she remains one of his closest allies throughout the previous chapters. She is a calm, reserved, and observant person. She is also polite, but sometimes acts without thinking. Rem has inferiority complexes and feels guilty about a past incident with her sister. Rem has a personality that is often mistaken for that of a "Yandere", but is more akin to that of a "Yangire". She is characterized by following a series of self-imposed commandments, all revolving around Subaru.
