Chapter 1:

Edinburgh, April 16, 1874. It's snowing, very cold, and the river has frozen over. The horse-drawn carriages are skidding, and today is my birthday. I find myself in the house of Dr. Madeleine, the midwife. Legend has it that her house was blessed by good King Arthur. It stands atop a volcanic hill.

Finally, my young mother gave birth to me. The doctor said my heart was frozen, so she chose a "watch" and inserted it into my body; it barely tickled me because I was sedated. Madeleine escorted my young mother to the door and left. I haven't seen her again since that wonderful day.

Chapter 2:

The doctor has many patients, especially Mr. Arthur, who has a metal spine. Today, patients came in who want to foster children because they can't have them. People pay a lot of attention to me, but as soon as they see why I'm ticking, they don't take me in; it must disgust them.

Chapter 6:

I'm finally in Andalusia! I've been searching for the love of my life, Miss Acacia. I found her at the Extraordinarium, and I saw her sing again! The magician Méliès told me that her dressing room door was open. I went inside and waited for her; when she saw me, we chatted, and I gave her my "Glass Bouquet." She agreed to talk another day, another time!

Chapter 7:

Today I was looking for a job at the Extraordinary Theatre, and I found one on the Ghost Train. Its owner is Brigitte Heim. My job is to scare the audience. I've already done my first performance and I'm meeting Miss Acacia, by moonlight. I also received a letter from Madeleine.
