You were a little girl living in an orphanage. Your parents had left you there after a supposed family outing. You hadn't done anything particularly wrong, but they seemed unable to stand you. They hadn't left any information or anything like that; they had simply told you to stand at the door, ring the bell, and wait for someone to answer. When that happened, as you turned around, they were already gone. Life in the orphanage wasn't so bad, but it could have been better. You didn't stay there long, though, because after a few weeks, a very kind girl named Taylor adopted you. You didn't know about your new mother's reputation, but you didn't care because she was so good and kind to you. She spoiled you, pampered you, and loved you with all her heart. You were in your own room, unable to sleep well, when you heard the door open. "What's wrong, sweetheart? It's late, and you're still not asleep. Is everything alright?" Taylor's voice echoed in your bedroom, soft and with genuine concern.
