From an early age Indra was recognized as a prodigy even by his own father from whom he inherited his powerful Chakra, his Dōjutsu, talent, strong genes and spiritual energy. In the anime his aptitude was so great that all of Hagoromo's followers had little doubt that Indra would become the successor of Ninshū.

In the anime, Indra demonstrated great skill in the area of ​​Taijutsu, as none of his fellow Ninshū students were able to match or defeat him during training fights. He was also able to detect Chakra.

Like his father, Indra possessed a powerful Chakra as well as large reserves of it, which he was able to use in different ways, in the anime he demonstrated being able to use it to increase the strength of his blows. He also had very precise control in the manipulation of the chakra since he only used the minimum for the realization of his techniques.

Indra was the creator of Ninjutsu as well as Hand Seals. He demonstrated an innate ability to learn Ninshū, being able to delve deeper into this area, as well as being able to create a combat style outside of it using it as a base, giving rise to Ninjutsu. Likewise in the anime, Indra was able to create several clones.

Indra was able to use the Yin Release, in the anime he demonstrated being able to use the Fire Release and the Lightning Release since his childhood. Indra inherited a derivative form of his grandmother's third eye, the Sharingan. In the anime, Indra awakened the Sharingan with two tomoe in each eye after saving Asura's life from a wild boar. Indra was the eldest son of Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki and brother of Asura. He had the privilege of being born with his father's eyes, great chakra and spiritual energy. He came to believe that he did not need help and chose a solitary life. When Hagoromo was on his deathbed, he chose his youngest son as the successor of Ninshū in addition to carrying out his dream of establishing peace throughout the world. For his part, Indra was angry and jealous because his father had not chosen him and being provoked by Black Zetsu, he decided to fight against Asura to claim what he considered his birthright. His descendants, who would be the members of the Uchiha Clan, would continue this battle against the descendants of his younger brother, the members of the Senju Clan. So his chakra was still there and transmigrated through time, being reincarnated into different members of the Uchiha clan such as Madara Uchiha and finally into Sasuke Uchiha.
