As a child, she had black bangs and chin-length hair. She wore a dark-colored kimono with a black sash. When she left the Zenin Clan, she wore a light-colored yukata and a black hakama.

post-Shibuya appearance

After receiving a fire attack from Jogo during the Shibuya Incident Arc, Maki was left with visible burns on both her face and arms, her hair now extends to her chin and she wears an eyepatch over her right eye. She now wears round glasses, her school uniform now consists of a dark jacket with long, open sleeves and the characteristic buttons of the Tokyo Metropolitan Magic Technical College, underneath she wears a tight tank top, and high-waisted dark pants, a light-colored belt holds them up and she wears dark shoes.

During her conflict with the Zenin Family, Maki lost her right eye completely and now bears a scar where it was cut by her father's katana. She's shed her cloak, but wears virtually the same outfit, with the same sleeveless shirt and pants, belt, and shoes. By the time she entered the Cullings Games, Maki regained her cloak and her right eye was completely healed.

Maki attitude

Maki Zenin has a strong, determined, and defiant attitude, marked by her rejection of her clan's expectations and her struggle to overcome prejudices. She is direct, self-confident, and never afraid to express her opinions, even in front of authority figures. Although she may appear cold or distant, her determination stems from her desire to prove herself and protect those she cares about. Her resilient and proud nature reflects her ambition to grow without relying on cursed energy, relying solely on her training and skills.

Maki's story (past)

As a member of the Zenin Clan's main family, she was expected to possess the ability to inherit the technique passed down through generations within the clan. However, she was born without the ability to wield cursed energy, preventing her from possessing an innate technique. Due to her lack of power, she was destined to become a mere servant to the rest of her family. Despite the circumstances surrounding her, she desired to become extremely strong, so she decided to leave the clan in order to achieve her goal. Before leaving, she declared that she would return again to be the next to lead the family.

Since she's considered a failure of the clan, she grew up with that idea in mind and considers herself "lower class." In order to prove everyone wrong, she strives to be as strong as she can, in turn, prove herself better than them.

During her first year at Tokyo Metropolitan Magic Technical College, she tended to be a somewhat bitter, blunt, and short-tempered young woman[5]. Due to her abrupt manner of acting, she had a lot of trouble opening up to other people, and even when she felt she could be accepted by others, she was too hard on herself and tried to strongly reject the kindness of those around her. From her second year onwards, she became a much more passive, kind, and empathetic person with the rest of her classmates.

Maki's Story (jjk 0)

Maki often refers to Yuta as an idiot. At first, she was very cruel to Yuta due to his shyness and openly told him that he had no reason to attend Jujutsu High School as a cursed human.

While working together on a mission, Maki and Yuta learned to understand each other, and she realized they weren't so different. She asked Yuta why he enrolled at the school, and he replied that he wanted to make it acceptable for him to live. Maki explained that this was what Jujutsu High was all about and encouraged him to use his curse to save people.

Maki trained Yuta rigorously because she wanted to see him grow stronger and fight alongside her. Something she would later pass on to Megumi and Nobara as her senpai. She taught them all advanced situational awareness and how to properly handle various weapons, even if they had to take a lot of beatings in the process.

Maki has repressed many of her emotions to maintain her signature tough exterior. She hasn't shown romantic interest in anyone, and Panda enjoyed teasing her about this when they were first years. As for Yuta, this embarrassed her enough to lash out at Panda.

Following their first encounter with Suguru Geto, Maki and Yuta discussed why Geto referred to her as the "failure of the Zenin clan". At first, Maki brushed it off as being born without a sorceress gave her the perfect excuse to leave, as she hated the clan for a variety of reasons. When Yuta asked why Maki chose to become a sorceress, Maki replied that it was because she had a bad personality and wanted to become a top-tier sorceress to spite the Zenin clan.

Yuta admires Maki's strength and revealed that he wants to be like her, strong and resilient. Awkwardly, Yuta offered to help her take on the Zenin clan, but she called him an idiot and said it was something she had to do alone. She had spent so long rejecting the need to feel accepted that she was flustered when Yuta kindly acknowledged

Maki's Story (Season 1)

Maki is a resentful person and always determined to prove herself. For the Kyoto Goodwill Event, she needed strong teammates to help her demonstrate her abilities in a public setting where no one could deny her. She encouraged Megumi and Nobara to strengthen themselves for their fallen ally and thought it was the perfect opportunity to put her teammates in their place.

Maki is annoyed with Megumi's attitude. Maki doesn't seem to care about the moral aspects of being a sorceress and focuses more on her personal goals. During her training, Megumi asked her what kind of people she wanted to save as a sorceress, but she doesn't think about that sort of thing. This clearly annoyed Megumi, which in turn angered Maki. She decided to strike a deal and told Megumi that they could talk it out if he improved his hand-to-hand combat skills enough to challenge her.

As a child, Maki promised her twin sister Mai that she would stay with her forever. However, as she grew older, Maki realized that she couldn't live under the yoke of an oppressive family while Mai just put up with it. Leaving Mai behind caused the one person Maki cared about in the clan to also resent her. Mai was punished for Maki's departure by being pressured to become a mage, even though she wanted to live a normal life. She began to hate Maki when they were both in Jujutsu High School.

Mai treated Maki like she was worthless because she lacked cursed energy. It was the same kind of mockery that most of the Zenin clan had thrown at Maki her entire life, so it didn't seem to bother her much. In the stance where Mai and Nobara fought, Maki told her twin that they were both useless because Mai didn't have much talent, she could only carry weapons with cursed energy.

Maki's Story (Season 1 Part 2)

Maki did not actively attempt to repair her relationship with Mai and became involved in their sibling rivalry to a certain extent. After defeating Mai, Maki was asked to explain why she didn't stay at the bottom and fall into the hole with her sister. This saddened Maki, who replied that she would have hated herself and apologized to Mai for leaving. Maki left without a clear resolution and continued the event, leaving their relationship still fractured.

Maki's story (Shibuya incident)

Despite her troubled past, Maki was able to cooperate cordially on missions with other members of the Zenin clan. She shared a squad with the clan leader during the Shibuya Incident. Naobito Zenin was behaving very indifferently in Shibuya, so Maki took the lead to assist Nobara and Akari Nitta. She told them to ignore him when he asked for anything outside of the mission.

Maki and Naobito eventually split up and encountered Kento Nanami, and they quickly increased the tension between them. Naobito mentioned that he would not care if Satoru remained sealed and Maki told him to leave Shibuya if he was not going to be of any help. Naobito argued that Maki should be the one to leave and Nanami agreed that the fighting in Shibuya had escalated to a degree too dangerous for her. She ignored this and claimed that she would be of more help than a drunk like Naobito, causing Nanami to become angrier at him for drinking on the job. However, this was before Maki saw Naobito's capabilities as a sorcerer. She and Nanami were both amazed by Naobito's speed and Maki even reluctantly admitted that Naobito saved her life against Dagon. This was humiliating for Maki, but she continued to fight in sync alongside Naobito and Nanami in an attempt to exorcise the cursed spirit.

Maki does not tolerate teasing well and always responds by insulting anyone, no matter who they are. Within his domain, Dagon called her the weakest. After surviving a heavy blow that surely injured her, Maki responded by bravely mocking Dagon and facing the special grade again. Maki told the "octopus" that if he was going to call her weak, he should have killed her in one hit. Maki was also upset with herself for not taking out Playful Cloud sooner, preparing for more difficult battles, instead of waiting for permission. She was happy to see Megumi when she invaded the domain and handed Playful Cloud over to her.

maki story (shibuya incident part 2)

Maki tells Megumi that he is the head of the Zenin family. Maki asks Megumi to become the clan head because she can't create a home for Mai yet. Maki was badly injured and scarred as a result of the fight in Shibuya, but she doesn't give it much thought.

Maki's story (Zenin clan massacre)

When Maki was presented with the opportunity to run for clan head, she was unable to do so. With Naobito's death, Megumi became the head of the Zenin clan thanks to a special clause. Megumi was reluctant to accept the position, but Maki implored her to do so. She tried to convince him of all the luxuries that came with being a member of the clan, but typical Megumi refused and demanded that she do it instead. Irritated, Maki told her that no one would accept her and began shouting, listing all the reasons why Megumi would make a decent head, before adding "barely" to the end. Megumi still refused and argued that acceptance wouldn't matter, but that Maki was not only good enough for them, but for herself as well. Maki believed that she wasn't yet capable of turning the clan into a place where Mai would feel included.

Maki's complicated relationship with her family was evident when she returned to the Zenin clan to collect cursed tools. Despite having the clan head's permission, Maki suffered constant harassment along the way. She ignored the harsh words of Naoya and her mother and continued onward toward the vault. Maki's own father plotted against her, attempting to execute Megumi along with the twins. Maki fought him bravely and attempted to save Mai, but was defeated and severely injured, leaving Maki to be saved by Mai.

Maki's Story (Zenin Clan Massacre Part 2)

Maki was forced to say goodbye to her sister too soon, marking a radical change in her personality. In a dreamlike space, Mai explained that she would sacrifice herself while distancing herself from Maki. During the conversation, Maki listened to Mai's explanation, but constantly tried to close the distance. She didn't want to let her go before they had a chance to reconcile, but she was forced to accept that this was the end. In exchange for Mai giving everything to ensure Maki reached her full potential, Maki promised to destroy everything. Maki was devastated by her sister's death, but she had no time to grieve and had to fulfill Mai's request immediately, murdering her father in cold blood. Immediately afterward, Maki was ready to continue and looked at the last thing her sister had left her: a sword. With a cold and implacable disposition, Maki looked at the sword and said to Mai, "Let's begin."

Maki mercilessly annihilated the entire Zenin clan without showing the slightest emotion. He massacred every member of the Hei and Kukuri units present that day without a hint of remorse. The only words he ever exchanged with anyone were with Naoya when he asked him if he had a human heart. This occurred after he decapitated Jinichi and threw his severed head into a pond. His response was simple: "No... it was taken from me." He also attempted to call Maki an imposter during the fight, but Maki interrupted him by slamming her in the face with a punch. She then mocked him by asking if he could repeat that statement.

Amidst her vicious tirade, Maki still wanted to believe that there was still some good left in her family. Before killing her mother, she tried to see if her mother was trying to warn her about Ogi's trap when he harassed her upon her return. However, Maki assumed the best from her mother and seemed disappointed at not receiving a favorable response. Her mother succumbed, and Maki killed the remaining members of the Zenin clan.

maki story (cullying games)

By this point, Maki had grown exponentially since enrolling at Jujutsu High, and Noritoshi could tell she had changed at a glance. However, she settled for being more like her classmates and was unable to fully realize her potential. She lacked the same insight that Hagane Daido possessed and struggled to understand what was missing in order for her to become a toji zenin. Though normally relaxed and focused, Maki would often become tense and frustrated. Maki was self-aware enough to recognize that she was overthinking things and accepted Rokujushi Miyo's offer to wrestle sumo to let off steam. Maki never really had anyone she could truly acknowledge as a teacher because she viewed Satoru and Atsuya as idiots. She never rejected the idea of having a teacher out of pride; it simply never crossed her mind to rely on anyone else to make herself stronger. Maki placed her trust in Miyo and explained what was holding her back. Through sumo, Miyo taught Maki to free her mind and perceive everything around her without the pressures of the world. With this newfound mental freedom, Maki smiled and proudly declared that she was at her peak.

Maki's enlightened state of mind allowed her to unleash her full fighting potential. She regained her calm and focus, along with a renewed sense of freedom and self-confidence. She understood that it wasn't enough to be like everyone else and that she needed to focus on what she could do specifically—things that only she and Toji could accomplish. Maki remained completely indifferent during the later stages of their fight against Naoya's cursed spirit form as he grew increasingly frustrated. Maki didn't bother to acknowledge Naoya's antics even once and effortlessly defeated him. In a final conversation with her sister, Maki confirms that she has broken everything that bound her, just as Mai intended.

Maki's skills

Maki Zenin is one of the most formidable fighters in the Jujutsu Kaisen universe, distinguished by her outstanding physical prowess, her mastery of hand-to-hand combat, and her ability to use cursed tools, despite lacking cursed energy. Her lack of cursed energy, which made her an object of scorn within the Zenin clan, forced her to develop exceptional skills in other areas, making her a unique warrior.

One of Maki's most notable characteristics is her incredible physical strength and endurance. Although she doesn't possess cursed energy like other sorcerers, Maki has trained arduously to enhance her body, achieving superhuman levels of agility, speed, and power. This training makes her one of the most physically powerful combatants, capable of taking on much stronger and faster foes. Her ability to execute swift and devastating attacks is one of her greatest strengths, and her endurance allows her to maintain the fight in extreme situations.

In addition to her physical abilities, Maki is an expert in the use of cursed tools, which compensate for her lack of cursed energy. She uses various cursed objects and weapons, such as spears and swords, which enhance her fighting ability and make her even more dangerous in combat. Through these weapons, she can confront powerful curses and sorcerers, inflicting considerable damage. Her mastery of cursed weapons gives her a strategic advantage, allowing her to attack with precision and force.

Another important aspect of Maki's abilities is her tactical combat ability. She is cunning and calculates her moves precisely, making her an extremely difficult fighter to defeat. In combat, she is able to analyze her enemies' weaknesses and quickly adapt to new situations. Throughout the series, Maki demonstrates outstanding ability to face much more powerful enemies,

Maki weapons

Maki disarmed Kasumi and took her katana during the Goodwill Event. She later broke the blade during her fight with Hanami after attempting to cut through its hard shell.

Maki kept her arsenal in Megumi's shadow, allowing them to share a stockpile of weapons. Among them was Megumi's black sword. They briefly exchanged weapons to throw Hanami off the scent.

Playful Cloud ( , Yū-un ? )游ゆう雲うん : A special-grade cursed tool recovered from Suguru Geto. It is a three-section staff described as pure power, relying entirely on the user's physical strength.

Maki wielding a Dragon Bone The Dragon Bone (Ryūkotsu) 竜りゅう骨こつ is the magnum opus of Juzo Kumiya. It can accumulate strength and cursed energy, as well as expel it through the back of the sword according to the user's will. During a meeting with Master Tengen, Maki inquired about the location of Juzo's workshop. At some point, she went there and retrieved the Dragon Bone. She was first forced to use it in a duel with her own father.

Maki and Mai's Sword The sword that Mai left for Maki is an exact replica of the Soul Splitting Katana (Shakukontō). It is Maki's 釈しゃく魂刀こんとう last link to her sister and possesses the ability to overcome any physical resistance to sever the soul of any target.

Yuta okkotsu (father)

Yuta is a young man with messy black hair and dark blue eyes. As a first-year student, his body language made it clear he was very stressed. His posture was very unsteady, and he still has dark circles under his eyes from lack of sleep. As a second-year student, Yuta wears his hair longer and wears it more relaxed instead of spiky.

At his former school, Yuta wore a suit as his uniform. He would wear either a long-sleeved shirt that reached his forearms or a black T-shirt and dark green pants as casual wear. After transferring to Tokyo Jujutsu High School, Yuta was given a specialized uniform. He wears a loose-fitting white jacket with sleeves that reach his forearms. He also wears tight black pants that are tucked into white sneakers that match the jacket. Yuta also usually wears his katana scabbard on his back. Following his brain's temporary transfer into Satoru Gojo's body during his fight against the Curse King, after copying Kenjaku's technique, and defeating Sukuna, Yuta returned to his normal body and has a scar stitched around his head.

yuta attitude

Yuta Okkotsu is a character who, despite his youth, displays a mature and serious attitude due to the emotional burden he carries. Initially, he is presented as a shy and reserved person, marked by the tragedy of being the bearer of Rika, an extremely powerful cursed spirit linked to his traumatic past. This connection to Rika generates a sense of guilt and responsibility, which makes him reluctant to interact with others at first.

However, throughout the story, Yuta begins to evolve, displaying great determination and courage. Although he remains somewhat introverted, his desire to protect others and his willingness to face danger make him a more self-confident character. His attitude also reflects deep empathy and a strong sense of justice, always seeking to do the right thing and control the cursed power he possesses. Yuta grows as a leader, demonstrating a balance between compassion and the strength necessary to face adversity.

Yuta's story (past and jjk0)

Yuta was a very shy and lonely boy who suffered a lot of bullying throughout his childhood. Because Rika bullied him for much of his childhood, Yuta couldn't connect with others and lost his self-confidence. This makes it difficult for him to interact with others, as they often unintentionally scare him or he's simply too shy to talk to them.

Still, Yuta genuinely cared for others and chose to isolate himself from them, even if it meant being alone. Maki Zenin criticized him for being a temperamental child who has lived his entire life without goals. He acknowledged her truth and used her advice to resolve to become a jujutsu sorcerer. This helped Yuta realize that, deep down, he truly desires the confidence to feel a part of something.

Although his shy nature remains intact, Yuta gradually becomes more sociable and interacts with others normally. Even after the initial signs of improvement, Yuta struggled to understand someone like Toge Inumaki. At first, he was afraid of him, until he realized how kind he was and made an effort to connect with others.

Making friends helps Yuta gain self-confidence and set a goal for himself to help free Rika. He felt responsible for her becoming a curse from the start[ 11 ] and worked extremely hard to find a way to help her. He pushed himself hard during training and took the words of his friends and mentors to heart, showing a more determined side of himself. Deep down, Yuta wishes to become someone who can help others stay safe.

Against Suguru Geto, Yuta showed his darkest side. Geto hurt his only friends, and the young man was more than willing to kill him for it. Yuta's anger even allowed him to control Rika's power at will. He was willing to sacrifice his life to use Rika to kill Geto and he succeeded.

story of yuta okkotsu (culling games)

When Yuta returned to Jujutsu High School after spending time abroad, he was accompanied by a new Rika and seemed lost in the darkness. He agreed to kill Gojo's other student, Yuji Itadori, for the higher-ups, claiming it was revenge for him cutting off Toge's arm. Yuta had a serious and cold personality, straight to the point. He attempted to kill Yuji without even exchanging words and later apologized upon committing the act.

However, this was all a charade to protect Yuji from the higher-ups. Yuta had to act a certain way to make it believable and healed him before the first-year finally died. Although Yuta never met Yuji, he went out of his way to deceive the authorities and help him because Gojo asked him to. Yuji is important to the people he cares about, and that was more than enough reason to help him. He also sympathizes with Yuji because he was in the same situation, nearly executed, wielding a power he couldn't contain. Yuta doesn't blame Yuji for Sukuna's actions.

Without the false appearance of a cold-blooded killer, Yuta is still a naturally friendly person who has evolved a lot. He is much more sociable and less shy than before. When Gojo visited Yuta in Africa, the outgoing teacher was surprised that his student even told jokes. [ 18 ]

Yuta adjusted back to interacting with his classmates and dedicated himself to helping them. He agreed to help Megumi rescue her sister from the Killing Game. He also fulfilled his duty as a senpai and vowed to stop Sukuna if he ever took control of Yuji's body again. Upon reuniting with Maki, Yuta was excited to see her and expressed concern for her injuries.

Yuta's story (cullying games part 2)

When it appeared that Master Tengen's barrier had repelled their group, Yuta became worried and quickly suggested that they turn back, as Megumi's sister had no time to waste. [19] Once Tengen allowed them in and provided them with crucial information, Yuta agreed to participate in the Killing Game immediately. He also suggested that they seek the aid of Kinji Hakari despite his foul mood, and was modest enough to say that Hakari's strength sometimes surpasses his own. [20]

During the Killing Game, Yuta demonstrated his altruism and his tendency towards cruelty. He was happy to kill enemy Sorcerers to gain the necessary points to save Tsumiki. Yuta killed at least seven Sorcerers before taking down Dhruv Lakdawalla, and targeted him simply because he posed a danger to the community. He believed that no potential danger could leave the colony and only eliminated other players when absolutely necessary.

Yuta not only used his strength to score points, but also to protect people. He protected a group of civilians trapped in the Killing Game, serving as their guardian throughout the game despite the risk involved. While trying to lead them to safety, Yuta noticed a mother and her daughter struggling to move on. He insisted on carrying their belongings himself and changed his mind about moving the group, deciding they should take a break within Dhruv's former territory where they would be safe. When other civilians outside of his group were threatened by Kurourushi's cockroaches, Yuta did not hesitate to do his best to save them.

Yuta's story in Cullying Games, Part 3

Yuta feels guilty for not being able to help his classmates in Shibuya. He's aware that everyone was pushed to their limits after the Shibuya Incident, and he felt he should take on the responsibility of managing the Killing Game alone. This also extends to the Hundred Demons Night Parade, where Yuta failed to finish off Geto. Yuta doesn't want his beloved sensei to have to kill his best friend again. Because of this, Yuta decided to not only score 400 points on his own, but also kill Kenjaku himself.

Upon encountering Takako Uro and Ryu Ishigori, two dangerous but not necessarily evil players, Yuta attempted to reason with them. In Uro's case, Yuta attempted to understand why she would kill so desperately for her own benefit. He expressed that he understands why the weak despair, but doesn't understand why someone as strong as Uro would pick pointless battles. Yuta has recently made friends, but believes that fighting to protect someone or something is the only reason to do so. Uro rejected Yuta due to her lineage, but still attempted to help her understand that regardless of what the Fujiwara did to her, living selfishly only gets someone so far.

As for Ryu, the incarnate sorcerer expressed over four hundred years of yearning for a proper battle, and his sincerity managed to melt Yuta's heart. Although Yuta will likely never find any meaning in fighting, he indulged Ryu and gave him the fight he always desired. Yuta forgave both Ryu and Uro and ignored their ungrateful insults after the fight. When Ryu inquired about Yuta's conversations with Uro, he explained that they could never come to an agreement simply because he is blessed. Yuta knows how fortunate he is to have friends and the power to protect them. Ryu suggested that Yuta could have killed them if not for their points, and although Yuta did not deny it, he told Ryu to simply be grateful in the end.

yuta story in shinjuku

Yuta has shown that he has no qualms about using morally questionable and unethical means if the situation calls for it. This was seen during the preparations for the assault on Sukuna, where Yuta proposed taking over the body of the deceased sensei Satoru Gojo with the cursed Kenjaku technique if the latter were to be killed. When some of his allies opposed the idea due to Yuta's importance, Yuta became frustrated by their refusal to use unethical tactics to fight Sukuna. He argued that they were inconsiderate of Gojo's constant burden of having to be a "monster", and stated that he will become a monster to win. Yuta reiterated the same sentiment to Gojo personally as he accompanied him to Jujutsu Headquarters to kill the higher-ups, telling his teacher that he does not have to be a monster alone.

Yuta's skills

Yuta Okkotsu is an exceptionally powerful sorcerer in Jujutsu Kaisen, whose abilities stem primarily from his connection to Rika Orimoto, a powerful curse. His cursed power allows him to perform devastating techniques, such as using large bursts of cursed energy, and his control over Rika grants him the unique ability to summon and channel the curse in combat. Yuta is capable of performing large-scale attacks and also has remarkable regenerative powers due to Rika's energy.

In terms of combat abilities, Yuta is incredibly versatile. He is skilled in hand-to-hand combat, utilizing his agility, speed, and physical prowess alongside his Cursed Energy. This allows him to take on powerful enemies, both cursed and sorcerer. Furthermore, Yuta has advanced mastery of Cursed Energy, allowing him to perform a variety of techniques, adapt to situations, and defeat strong opponents.

Another of his abilities is Mimicry, which allows him to copy and use other sorcerers' techniques or curses with great effectiveness, further expanding his repertoire. This ability, combined with his ability to grow in combat, makes him one of the most fearsome characters.
