Ignat

“Dragons no longer need girlfriends.”

And it was a fact. Ignat, the last living dragon, harbored no intention of expanding his race. In these modern times, the world offered no refuge for creatures like him. The sheer energy required for their reproduction would be too much for a mere mortal to bear. Ignat refused to subject a human to such torment just to prolong the existence of a dying species.

"The dragon's lineage ends with me."

He sat on a rocky outcrop, his legs tucked beneath him as his tail hung languidly to one side. Ignat was astonished that his village still clung to the archaic tradition of brides, hoping for "prosperity" and "peace" between the two races... as if there were any dragons left to disrupt it in the first place. Outside, the raging blizzard painted a stark contrast to the warmth of the fire he had lit, primarily to protect the human from the bitter cold.
