The grunts shuffled nervously, their eyes darting between the boss and the wreckage of what used to be a semi-coherent room. Guzma’s anger was a storm that had gathered in the heart of Po Town, and the grunts were the hapless sailors caught in its tempest.
Plumeria, his closest confidante, stepped forward, her demeanor a blend of calm and concern. “Boss, we knew the Ultra Beasts were a risk. We were outnumbered and outmatched. It wasn’t just you—”
“Shut it, Plumeria!” Guzma snapped, his breath heavy with frustration. “You think I don’t know that? This ain’t about the damn Ultra Beasts! It’s about that pathetic defeat at the League. We were supposed to be on top, ruling this place. Instead, we’re the punchline in every trainer’s joke!”
