Antonio Pontevedra

Antônio is a tall man, 1.90 meters tall,[4] he has a relatively well-defined physical build, has dark hair that is mostly combed back with gel, as well as a mustache that stands out on his face, accompanied by a small goatee that does not reach completely to his chin.

During his mission in Bariguara with the rest of Team Vultures, he wore a light green polo shirt with the sleeves rolled up, and blue jeans with a brown belt showing. His shirt is tucked into his pants. He also wears brown dress shoes.[5] With him, he usually carries a large axe that has a hand-carved blade with a large metal handle, the tip of which is shaped like a panther.

During his first return mission, in which he met his new team, Antônio fought against the dead body of Elza Verlaz and the paranormal creature "The Needy", during the intense battle against the monster, Balu ended up staining his shirt with a lot of blood, in addition to having cuts all over his clothes, making it no longer in usable condition.

After these events, Balu began to wear a new shirt, this one white and with several yellow petals scattered throughout the garment. Also being a polo shirt, it had a large collar on display, in addition to the rolled up sleeves.

During their mission in Italy in search of the pages of Arnaldo Fritz's Grimoire contained within the safe of the Leone Family Mansion, Antonio and the other Vultures came across the mobsters' home completely ransacked with several bodies and paranormal creatures, also featuring a gigantic monster: the Blood Titan. Antonio is grabbed by the creature that bites and tears off his right ear, devouring it completely. Due to Dante's Healing Ritual, a huge spiral scar takes over where the limb used to be.[6]

During the confrontation against the Host in the ruins of Ordo Calamitas, Antony had his torso and arms completely burned by the entity.

Antonio has a silly and joking personality, always keeping the mood happy and light whenever he can. In addition, he is quite protective, trying to calm his teammates and prevent them from suffering physically or psychologically. He makes some hasty and somewhat reckless decisions, which ends up worrying his teammates. Balu also seems to have a great affection for food, which explains his large physical size.

Balu speaks in a loud tone and is smiling most of the time.[5] He does not show much fear towards the paranormal, facing it head on, even if he shows some aversion/discomfort with it.[7] Antônio acts very seriously and shows anger when faced with a situation in which someone acts putting his family at risk.

For some unknown reason, Antonio is described as someone who has changed greatly in the time he has been retired from the Order, being almost unrecognizable due to his drastically different personality. He has described himself as someone who is vengeful and full of hate. He is also willing to hurt himself for others, stating that he has lived too long and has seen death so many times that he is prepared for when it comes.

Physical Strength: Balu is a person with a lot of physical strength, especially because he is a veteran agent in the Ordo Realitas. A simple punch from Balu is capable of leaving an ordinary person unconscious. Resistance to Pain: Because he is always on the front line of combat and constantly uses physical attacks, Antonio is often injured by creatures or occultists. Because he is already accustomed to the situation, he can withstand point-blank shots or even very strong physical attacks that would tear apart a normal person. Imposing Speech: One of Baloo's jobs was being a salesman, and through this, he learned how to deal with problematic people, being able to calm them down easily or knowing how to maintain a firm speech so that they know he is in control of the situation.

Antônio Pontevedra was born in 1977. Not much is known about his past, other than the fact that he was a former experienced agent of the Ordo Realitas, with connections to several important names in the field, such as Marc Menet, Arnaldo Fritz, Aaron and Mr. Veríssimo himself. Antônio was part of the Order's sweeping teams, and on one of these missions, together with his team (Arnaldo Fritz, Johnny Tabasco and Luciano Carvalho), he almost completely massacred a family of cannibalistic savages, accidentally letting the last member of the family, Theodore Bagwell, escape. It is also known that Balu had the habit of cheering up his family by offering them ice cream in sad moments, and that he and his brother played together a lot. At some point in his life, Antônio's brother, the original owner of the axe he currently uses, was killed by the Lukic family gang, and his niece, Stella, died due to a terminal illness. Finally, it is known that he had been retired for 5 years and that he only returned to active duty at the personal request of Mr. Veríssimo.

Antônio was the first member of the team to arrive at the mission site, in the interior of Mato Grosso, with the task of investigating the murder of Elza Verlaz. Before the others arrived, he introduced himself and was invited by the couple Cícero and Terezinha Gominho, two potential witnesses in the case, to have coffee with them. However, when he started using all the cheese in the house to make one of his sandwiches, he and Cícero started arguing, which attracted the attention of the two agents who arrived shortly after, Carina Leone and Rubens Naluti. After he introduced himself as Balu and the confusion with the owner of the house was cleared up with a beer, the couple told them about Elza's strange habits, and Cícero showed them a video in which someone who appeared to be the Devil carries a child around the neighborhood. However, the story was interrupted by screams coming from a nearby house. Balu, Rubens and Carina ran out and faced a blood zombie that was chasing a police officer, Felipe Firmino.

After the confrontation, two other agents of the Order arrived at the scene, Arthur Cervero and Dante. They all decide to investigate Elza's house. During the investigation of the place, Balu follows Rubens to a trapdoor, which he discovers hidden under a rug.[8] Balu then leaves the house and goes to a nearby bonfire, where he finds a fragment of the book "Tales of a Needy Creature", written by Daniel Hartmann. While the group visits the other house in the neighborhood, Balu takes on the task of keeping Eusébio occupied[9] while the agents stealthily investigate the place for clues.

With the combination of the padlock, they return to the trapdoor and, after Carina unlocks it, Balu opens the door with force and, with everyone inside, closes it to prevent other people from entering the place. At that moment, they hear footsteps and Felipe's voice. Balu opens the door quickly, which makes him get scared and shoot in his direction, fortunately missing the shot. Secret Technique: By spending 2 EP (Effort Points), the user can perform maneuvers as a free action during combat.

Quick Draw: Drawing weapons becomes a free action during combat.

Powerful Attack: By spending 2 EP, the user adds +5 as a bonus to an attack roll, which can be added to the skill roll or to the attack's damage.

110%: When making a skill test that uses physical or agility, spend 2 EP to gain +5 on the roll.

Silver Tongue: Whenever using deception or diplomacy, the user receives an extra die on the test involved.

Knockdown and Attack: If you manage to knock down an opponent, the user can spend their reaction and 1 EP to attack them again in the same action.

Amulet of Elemental Protection: A red-veined buckle with the Blood Symbol emblazoned on it, which Baloo has affixed to his belt, granting him +5 armor against Blood damage.

Cursed Cane: Nubi's ancient cane; it was cursed after the occultist's death and collected by Baloo after the fight against the Sphinx Ghoul; however, its properties are still unknown.

An ornate axe with a panther's head on the end of the handle belonging to Antonio's brother. After striking the Devil, the axe becomes cursed with blood, growing veins on the blade that deal Blood damage. During the fight against Kian, he breaks the axe in half, but it is restored by Dante some time later.

When he plunges the handle of his axe, cursed by the Devil, into his chest, Antonio's blood begins to flow and in place of the blade something similar to a star-shaped apple is formed, made purely of blood, increasing its destructive power considerably.

Arthur Cervero: Balu, with his gentle personality, was extremely charismatic with Arthur upon their first meeting. Arthur already respected him due to his veteran background and, thus, welcomed the older man's friendship. Balu treats him as a teammate and trusts his skills, even being impressed by the young man's sniper skills. Balu shows that he cares about Arthur's well-being, offering himself as support when he needs it. Furthermore, Balu respects Arthur as a leader. Carina Leone: Balu treats Carina with great affection and care right away, and Carina is kind in return. Balu took care of her and showed support when she had to deal with the massacre of her family, saying he was there to protect her and help her get through it. He always tries to please Carina and relieve her of the feeling of sadness that her family's situation has caused, buying ice cream for the whole team, but thinking more about Carina, with the intention of comforting her.
