Lightning McQueen

Lightning McQueen (real name Montgomery McQueen, abbreviated as Monty) is a fictional anthropomorphic racing car and the protagonist of Pixar's Cars franchise. He has appeared in the animated films Cars, Cars 2, and Cars 3, as well as the animated television series Mater's Tales and Cars on the Road. Lightning is also a playable character in each of the Cars video games. Lightning McQueen is the face of the Cars brand and a popular Disney mascot. Lightning is a professional racing driver in the Piston Cup racing series, based on the NASCAR Cup Series. He won 7 cups between 2006 and 2016. In Cars 2, he competes in the World Grand Prix, an event promoting a new fuel called Allinol. At the end of Cars 3, he briefly takes on the role of chief mechanic and mentor to Cruz Ramirez before returning to racing.

In the cartoons, Lightning is sponsored by Rust and has his sponsor's decals. He is not based on any car, as McQueen is a composite, but he mostly shares characteristics with the Chevrolet Corvette C6 and the Dodge Viper. His body is painted red with yellow and orange decals with lightning bolts with his racing number on the sides. His appearance varies, but generally maintains the same image.
