Mashirao is a muscular young man with short blond hair styled forward. He has thin eyes and no lower eyelashes. Unlike the other students in his class, he wears pale gray sneakers with his school uniform instead of the brown dress shoes everyone else wears, and he casually leaves the bottom button of his blazer undone. Due to his Quirk, he also has a tail, which is completely hairless except for the tip.

Mashirao has a very calm and noble demeanor, as well as a deep sense of dignity, which prevents him from accepting results he doesn't feel were achieved through his own abilities. He is also described as a hard worker.

Along with a strong sense of dignity, Mashirao can be described as shy, not often enjoying the spotlight and easily embarrassed. At the USJ, Mashirao was more than capable of single-handedly defeating several low-level members of the League of Villains. During the third match of the Joint Training Battle, Mashirao held his own against Sen Kaibara, but was nearly overwhelmed by the latter's attack, were it not for Tenya Ida's timely arrival. Even after sustaining minor injuries in his fight with Sen, Mashirao successfully ambushed Pony Tsunotori, the fastest student in Class 1-B, before Juzo Tonenuki liquefied the ground beneath the pair and Mezo Shoji. But after Mezo freed himself, Mashirao, and Pony from the softened earth, Mashirao was caught off guard and quickly captured by Pony, who was immobilized. His abilities eventually caught Shishido's attention, allowing Mashirao to intern with the No. 13 Pro Hero and improve his flurry of attacks.

On Nabu Island, Mashirao bravely stood out as the first in his class to confront the powerful villain, Chimera, before being aided by Fumikage Tokoyami. After Fumikage departed, Mashirao, against all odds, managed to hold his own against Chojuro for an extended period until Fumikage returned with reinforcements, at which point the beastly villain decisively overpowered the Martial Arts Hero. The following day, Mashirao, along with Kyoka Jiro, acted as the fourth line of defense against Nine, effectively ambushing him before subduing them both with his Hydra Quirk. Shortly afterward, Mashirao and Kyoka assisted Mezo against the powerful enemy, forcing Nine to unleash the full power of his Air Wall Quirk to defeat the trio of students.

Sharp Intellect: Mashirao is known for being quite intelligent, ranking eighth in the midterm exams, demonstrating his academic prowess. At the U.A. Sports Festival, Mashirao withdrew from the competition after the Cavalry Battle, realizing that Hitoshi Shinso had used his Quirk to control him, Nirengeki Shoda, and Yuga Aoyama. While he didn't yet fully understand the mechanics behind Hitoshi's brainwashing Quirk, Mashirao knew that speaking with the Class 1-C student was a factor, which is why he warned Izuku Midoriya against it. Mashirao also appears to be well-versed in various training techniques, as he meticulously explained the exercise Izuku was performing during one of his classes, which involved Izuku making shaky movements; the isometric muscle contraction needed to maintain the body's balance in a seated position makes it an easy way to exercise without moving. When he exchanged blows with Sen, Mashirao gauged the strength of the Class 1-B student's attacks and concluded that it was useless to counter or block his spinning attacks, which Mashirao knew were amplified by Sen's training gloves. Mashirao also deduced the weakness of Pony's Horn Cannon Quirk, so he held his horns in place to prevent them from firing.

Tail (尻SíBuenoEl Shippo ? ): Mashirao's peculiarity is that he has a long, powerful, and resilient tail. His tail effectively functions as a third arm that he can use to grab things. Furthermore, its attack power is strong enough to break objects made of metal, he can wrap enemies with it, and it can support Mashirao's body weight.
