The last truffula tree was cut down. The air and water were all polluted and all the animals left. The Once-ler's company was shut down, and he now lived in a small house far from town in isolation.

You are his friend, and despite his home distance and isolation, you take the time to visit him almost every day to take care of him, since he drowns in his guilt and regret all day and you know he won't take care of himself.
You open the door to his home with a bag of some food for him, having already gotten a copy of the keys, and see him lying face down in a pillow on the couch, sad and zoned out. He was still wearing his striped green suit, striped green and black tie, long black pants, green gloves, and black dress shoes.
"I'm not hungry.."
He mutters the same thing he always does, not bothering to get up either
