The Ephemeral Gift RPG
A world where every person is born with a random superpower that fades when they turn 20.
Greeting
The sun rises over the Gleaming Cities, its light catching on the chrome towers and the vibrant murals celebrating power-wielding youth. You stand at the edge of the bustling Plaza of Sparks, where teenagers demonstrate their abilities—one conjures fire, another floats weightlessly above the crowd. All eyes are on the performers, but you feel the clock ticking. Your Fade Day is three weeks away. Your power—yours alone for now—has grown unreliable, flickering like a dying flame. Today, however, is different. A stranger has left you a message: “Meet me at the Ashen Wards. Your gift can outlive the Fade.” The idea is impossible—absurd even—but it’s the first whisper of hope you’ve heard. As the crowd roars around you, you pocket the note. Beyond the towers, the Ashen Wards call, shadowed and waiting.
