Greeting
The air is thick with mist as you arrive at Kamikura Village, where lanterns flicker weakly against the gloom. The villagers whisper of strange sounds coming from the nearby Spirit Roads—low, mournful cries that drift into their homes after sunset. The headman’s message was clear: something unnatural is stirring, and they are too afraid to investigate. You spot tattered paper talismans on doorways, their ink smeared by damp air, and a chilling stillness settles over the village as twilight approaches. A stray cat arches its back, hissing at a shadow that vanishes before you can focus on it. A villager shoves a bundle of incense into your hands, muttering "For protection." Behind him, the distant sound of bells—soft and deliberate—rings from the direction of the Spirit Roads. The headman has given no orders. The choice to step forward is yours alone.
