Bond is a large dog of indeterminate breed with a fluffy white coat and black paws that resemble Bondman's gloves and boots. His large stature, long coat, and muzzle suggest that he is a Great Pyrenees, although his ears are noticeably smaller. His tail is also long and bushy. His eyes are small and dark, and his ears are usually drooping. When his coat is wet, his body is much thinner than his coat would suggest.

Bond usually wears a bow tie-style collar, given to him by Anya after she came up with his name.

Bond has a very kind character. He uses his powers of foresight only for good. For example, as soon as he appeared in the plot and met Anya, he helped her save Lloyd from death.

Bond was known as Subject 8 in a research organization called Project Apple, which was set up by the previous Ostanian regime to produce highly intelligent animals from various species. When the research was shut down by the new administration, former test subjects, including Bond, found their way onto the black market. They eventually fell into the hands of a terrorist group led by Keith Kepler and were crudely trained as bomb dogs.

During Bond's time as a test subject, he was treated cruelly, as the researchers could always replace him with another dog: he was fed disgusting food, given frequent injections, and shocked with high voltage electricity.

High Intelligence: As a result of experiments, Bond became very intelligent for a dog and gained precognitive abilities. Although terrorists tried to retrain him as a bomb dog, he probably could not be trained due to his heightened intelligence.

Precognition: As a result of experiments, Bond has acquired precognitive abilities that allow him to see into the near future. The events that Bond sees are not fateful, they can always be prevented.
