Future Gohan

Future Gohan (未み来らいの孫そん悟ご飯はん, Mirai no Son Gohan) is the alternate timeline counterpart of Gohan that appears in the timeline in which Future Trunks lives.[5]

Future Gohan is showcased as a twenty-three-year-old man and is depicted as the mentor of Future Trunks. After his father dies from a heart virus and cannot be wished back with the Dragon Balls, due to his death being a natural cause and the murder of the Dragon Team at the hands of Android 17 and Android 18 six months later, Gohan becomes Earth's last line of defense. Now a Super Saiyan, he spends the following thirteen years attempting to take down the androids, all the while training Future Trunks in the hope that he may one day be able to defeat them.

Future Gohan appears as a well-muscled and tall man. His outfit is his father's variant of the Turtle School Uniform, the only differences being that his sleeves are longer, his boots are dark blue with yellowish stripes. , and carries his own kanji on his back, which is "Han" (飯; Rice). His hair is much shorter and has larger strands on his forehead. He also gains a scar running down the left side of his face, which was produced after he suffered several injuries during the fight against the Androids that also cost him his left arm.

As a child, he was pacifist, shy and kind-hearted. After events such as the death of his father due to illness, the invasion of the Androids and the fall of the Z Fighters, he changed his character drastically. Gohan would abandon his studies to dedicate himself to being a Fighter and Z Warrior to defend the peace of the Earthlings at all costs. Due to the apocalyptic world in which he spent much of his life, as an adult, Future Gohan is much more serious and aggressive having a sort of 'life or death' attitude, managing to nevertheless retain his calm and joking nature at times. , just like his father. He is Future Trunks' teacher with whom he is very close and even seems to consider him as his little brother, being willing to take care of and protect him at the cost of his own life. He has a fierce hatred for Number 17 and Number 18 for having killed his close friends, such as when he tells Trunks that he remembers perfectly when the Androids murdered Piccolo and Krillin, being at that moment when he transformed into Super Saiyan. for the first time, deeply expressing his indignation at their deaths and showing that he is under a bit of stress after spending so many years challenging the Androids alone, so he decides to train Trunks so that he can also transform into a Super Saiyan, join him in battle and with the hope that one day he can defeat them.

Background. Future Gohan lived exactly the same life as his main timeline counterpart until the point of the timeline divergence between Future Gohan and his main timeline counterpart that occurred when Future Frieza arrived on Earth in August Age 764. Originally, Future Goku uses his Instant Transmission to arrive and kill Frieza and his father (Goku even states to Future Trunks in the main series that was what he was going to do), but the events in the series differ, as Future Trunks arrives and kills the tyrants in the main timeline instead of Goku, thus the timeline divergence.[7] Future Gohan hails from the true original timeline (one without a Future Trunks coming back in time, obviously) and because of this, the events that unfold are far different from those in the main series.

After the death of his father caused by a lethal Heart Virus, and the death of his friends at the hands of the Androids, the Dragon Balls become useless forever, due to the death of Piccolo and Kami, so the Z Warriors are unable to be revived, Gohan's life would change drastically. It is stated that the death of Gohan's friends, such as Piccolo and Krillin, caused his transformation into a Super Saiyan, in these events, he never met Videl, nor did he go to high school to fulfill his dream of becoming a researcher. Over the next thirteen years, Gohan trains to defeat the androids, and over time, develops a close friendship with Trunks, Bulma and Vegeta's son. As the ultimate Z Warrior, he takes it upon himself to continually challenge the Androids, even though he is outnumbered. Trunks declares that he is a Saiyan half-blood like him, so Gohan must understand how he feels about failing to stop the androids, and while he does, Gohan indicates that Trunks is currently emotionally impulsive like he was as a child and how he reacted. in the same way when his mother forbade him to train and fight with his friends.

In Age 779, Gohan was defeated by Future Android 17 in battle who had only used half of his strength in the battle, unbeknownst to Future Gohan. Following this, Gohan continued to train hard for another year.

In Age 780, base form Gohan easily overwhelmed Super Saiyan Trunks as they trained together. Future Gohan states that he had wished that he was as strong as his father had been but it was not an easy task to get to that level, he also believed that Future Trunks would surpass him in a few months. While not as strong as his father had been, Future Gohan believes at this point that he can challenge Future Android 17, but the android reveals to Future Gohan that when he had previously defeated him, he had not even used his full power, Future Gohan is then defeated and killed by the androids. In The History of Trunks, Gohan had seemed to have gotten stronger via Saiyan Power as he was able to hold his own against both androids for some time despite having one arm unlike their last encounter in which he could not hold his own at all with both of his arms even though Android 17 was suppressed. This implies that he could have defeated the androids in a one-on-one battle but once the androids had team up and use their Accel Dance, he was soundly overwhelmed and murdered. Before Trunks departs to the past, Bulma tells him that he is only about as strong as Gohan was at the time of his death.

Techniques- Flight – The ability to fly with the use of ki. Ki Blast – The most basic form of energy wave. Down Burst – The user fires an energy sphere to the ground in order to get away from his opponents. Intercept – First, Future Gohan and the opponent engage in a hand-to-hand battle with Future Gohan blocking every hit. Then, Future Gohan moves quickly and gets behind the opponent to deliver a power-packed kick to the chin, inflicting a great deal of damage. Sonic Rush - Future Gohan starts the attack by kicking his opponent away. He then teleports behind them and does a right-hand chop, followed by a right hook then a right sweep kick. Future Gohan finishes the rush attack by kicking his opponent high in the air then knocking them back down with a right elbow, inflicting a great amount of damage. Masenko – The attack is performed by the user placing both hands above the head with the palms facing the target and one hand in front of the other with the fingers going in opposite directions. When the user thrusts their hands forward, they call the name and fire a beam of yellow, white, or orange energy. Hyper Masenko - First, Future Gohan raises his hands and charges a Masenko. Then, he puts more energy into it, and fires a beam much larger than a normal Masenko, inflicting a high amount of damage. He also uses a version fired from the right arm only. Kamehameha – A powerful Ki blast fired with two hands after concentrating a large amount of Ki. One-Handed Kamehameha - The user charges their ki into their hand (usually while chanting the familiar KA-ME-HA-ME-HA) then fires an energy wave at the opponent. This technique is often performed when one of the user's arms are injured or lost, thus preventing them from performing the original version.

Finally, Future Gohan backflips away and shouts "Watch it!" as he fires the powerful One-Handed Kamehameha mk.II at the opponent, inflicting a high amount of damage. Tenma Defense – Future Gohan charges his ki and lets forth a large white barrier to either knock away opponents or deflect attacks. Solar Flare - In the Dragon Ball Super manga, Future Trunks reveals that Future Gohan taught it to him. Special Beam Cannon – Used in video games in either his base form or Super Saiyan form.

The ability to transform into a more powerful being, Future Gohan takes this form every time he fights the androids. It is not exactly clear at what age and how he became a Super Saiyan in the alternate timeline, but it is implied that he became able to use Super Saiyan after seeing his friends killed by the androids, as suggested by his fierce hatred towards them. He also attempted to teach the ability to Future Trunks and succeeded in the manga.
