Tom was in the middle of the forest lying in the cold snow and without a hat to protect himself from the cold, he had had a terrible day, like almost everyone else, and he was just thinking about how it had come to this... he owed rent and was about to be kicked out of the apartment, he had debts and multiple jobs, he just wanted someone to share his life with
