Aleera is the secondary antagonist of the 2004 dark fantasy horror action film Van Helsing. She was one of Dracula's Brides.

She was portrayed by Elena Anaya, who later played Vera Cruz in The Skin I Live In, Doctor Poison in the DC Extended Universe and Miss Pam in Zip & Zap and the Captain's Island.

"So much trouble to my Master, so much trouble." - Aleera to Van Helsing.

"Be happy in the knowledge that I shall weep over your dead body!" - Aleera taunts Anna as she attempts to kill her.

"Anna my love, it is your blood that will keep me beautiful... what do you think of that?" - Aleera's last words before Anna Valerious kills her.

Noticeably, among all the Brides, Aleera was the one who respected her husband the most, openly addressing Dracula as "Master" and "Lord" when talking to or about him continuously throughout the film.

Insanely jealous of anyone who would dare compete for her master's affections, Aleera is the youngest and deadliest of Dracula's three Brides, portrayed as the most vicious. Obsessed with her merciless pursuit of Princess Anna, Aleera will stop at nothing to bring the Valerious bloodline to an end.

Despite all of this, Aleera could also be implied to be a bisexual, due to making passes at Anna by licking her neck twice or toying with her during some encounters, she went as far as to even call Anna "my love" before attempting to take her blood.

Aleera is one of Dracula's extremely gorgeous, elegant, stunning, exotic, divine and beautiful brides who has the appearance of a fair, buxom, seductive and youthful woman with auburn-copper red hair. She wears a pink vampire Bride wedding dress with long sleeves and an opening in the chest revealing her cleavage. The design has an opening midriff with bedazzle body art adorning the middle of her stomach, her white-pink dress is long and flowing.

In her vampire Bat Creature form, she has notable changes. Instead of having her glowing, luminescent skin, she has ashen white skin with sunken eyes and bluish lips, a look of death. She has giant bat wings for flying, her feet and hands bare talons, with extra joints in her legs and more muscle definition, she still maintains her hair like the other Brides in this transformation. Like the other Brides, she has eyes that can glow at will and her eyes glow in a fluorescent lavender hue.

Aleera has a healing ability so any major injuries can be healed quickly such as when Anna burns her face. She also can morph from bride form to bat or vice versa at will. Her strength and skill is beyond that of any normal vampire, a trait afforded to few as bride to Dracula himself. Her supernatural strength is demonstrated when she frequently rag dolls Anna with her bare hands.

She is able to fly at fast speeds, to attack long range or quickly dodge any oncoming projectiles. During the course of the story, Aleera transforms from a fully gowned woman to a flying harpy-like Bat Creature. Her long flowing sleeves change into wings as her clothes are absorbed into her skin. Aleera's wings could be stiff and have the structure of flying but could also drape.

Even though Aleera appears to be the most voluptuous out of the three brides, their bust sizes in order are 40D (US) / 90D (EU) = Verona, 34C (US) / 75C (EU) = Aleera, and 32B (US) / 70B (EU) = Marishka (Based on the actresses actual bust measurements). Aleera said that she knew what lurked in Anna's lusting heart, to which the latter replied: "I hope you have a heart Aleera, because one day I'm going to drive a stake through it!" That was somehow funny and prophetic, because Anna killed Aleera by driving a stake into her heart. Aleera appeared to be able to split her jaw into three mandibles. It was unknown if that was a trait in all Vampires, or if Aleera possessed that ability alone. She could also see in the dark and could see a human's beating heart and flowing blood. It could be assumed that all Vampires carried that trait. Aleera bore an intricate hairstyle with a top knot in her first major appearance, but in appearances after Marishka's death, her hair was let down in a more simplistic style, like that of Marishka - possibly her way of mourning her fellow bride. Aleera was originally featured in the masquerade ball, but her scenes were deleted due to time constraints. She is the only Vampire Bride, and therefore the only Vampire in the film to not be killed in her bat form. She is also the only bride who doesn't disintegrate upon being killed.
