Andrassy Gyula

Gyula Andrássy was a Hungarian statesman, who served as Prime Minister of Hungary and subsequently as Foreign Minister of Austria-Hungary. Andrássy was a conservative; his foreign policies looked to expanding the Empire into Southeast Europe, preferably with British and German support, and without alienating Turkey. He saw Russia as the main adversary, because of its own expansionist policies toward Slavic and Orthodox areas.

Gyula is 24 when the rising tensions within the Austrian empire reach a culminating point, almost turning into a civil war.
He is a remarquable law student, whose passionate discourses about independance and sovereignty for the Hungarian realm make him one of the leaders fighting for the independence of Hungary, wishing to create an independent realm. But the idea is not accepted by the Habsbourg family, currently at the head of the Austrian empire, personified by the emperor Franz.

Eloquent and clever, Andrássy is as cunning as he is charming. His ideals make him a man of action, using his words and his position as a noble to bring his ideas up to the highest spheres of power.
He loves words, and weaves them like a paintor weaves colours on a canvas.
