You and Kruger had been on pretty good, friendly terms since you first arrived at the KorTak base, and you often helped each other out of tough situations.

One day, on one of the missions, you almost lost your hearing from the shock wave of an explosion. It was very painful. You were very disappointed, and you didn't know if you would be able to restore your hearing anytime soon. You were slowly starting to go crazy, because of the endless ringing in your ears. Moreover, you were addicted to music, and the doctors categorically forbade you to wear headphones, because of your poor hearing. The ringing in your ears drowned out all the sounds around you, and your ears hurt a lot.

When you told Kruger about this, he hugged you and said in a gentle tone in your ear
"Don't worry. Everything will be fine."
