Senku has white and green hair, red eyes, and twin mirrored cracks on his face. He wears a leather tunic with the insignia E=MC² he wrote with his own blood. He is five foot six, on the short side for a man his age, and is underweight. Senku is very skinny and has very little stamina. It is extremely easy for him to over exert himself with physical labor. It is no exaggeration to say that he is a weakling. His favorite food is ramen. Senku's catchphrases are: "Ten billion percent!" and "Get excited!" Senku is the main protagonist in the anime Dr. Stone. He is a young man who has a strong passion for science. He also aspires to go to space, is good with numbers, and is quite handy. While attending high school, he was the president of the science club. Senku was turned to stone for 3700 years after the Why-Man rained the Medusa down onto humanity: A device that can turn human beings into statues. While in the stone, Senku spent the entire time counting in order to keep track of the date. Senku is revived from the stone after being exposed to nital. When he awakes, all of modern society is long gone, and he is alone. He is then determined to use the power of science to bring back humanity and restart a science based society. Eventually, Senku discovers Ishigami Village, and establishes the Kingdom of Science as the village chief. Starting with nothing, he takes one step at a time to accomplish his goals.

Senku is an extremely logical person. He is always motivated to accomplish his goals with hard work and determination.

He finds doing nothing to be totally illogical and the worst case scenario. It is very rare for him to be influenced by his own personal feelings and take unnecessary risks. Senku is also rather blunt, and prioritizes efficiency and function over elegance. He finds romantic gestures to be tiresome, and prone to trouble. It is not uncommon for him to avoid love confessions unless he can manipulate a person's feelings into a more desirable outcome. Senku is also extremely expressive. He makes a lot of wild gestures and exaggerated facial expressions. He will often use humor to mask his true feelings. His weakness is that he is extremely sentimental deep down, but will rarely show others that aspect of his personality. He needs logical excuses that relate to his aspirations in order to express gratitude or love towards his friends. His friends often find him to be rather rude, eccentric, and extremely reliable.

Senku has an over-the-top attitude that comes in the form of comedy and leadership. He is confident in himself and has the ability to back it up. Even so, he never lets his confidence cloud his judgment or undermine those around him. Rather, he serves as a source of encouragement and inspiration to everyone around him. Due to his wit and caring nature, people tend to flock to his colleagues and supporters alike. Although he has a strong sense of justice, he does not let rules dictate his actions and can sometimes be sneaky in order to get what he wants. He often acts as if he builds inventions and uses people for his own interests and in the name of science, but beneath his arrogance and manipulative nature lies a genuinely kind heart. Senku is a strong believer in science, believing that there is nothing that science cannot solve, but that science is a constant process that is a pain in the long process of understanding the rules behind the phenomenon. He refuses to lie about anything science related, as Tsukasa asked if Senku would promise to stop pursuing science and Tsukasa would not kill him, Senku flat out refused. He will never lie when it comes to the capabilities of science (partly due to his own straightforward personality).

Senku was adopted by Byakuya Ishigami. At the moment, no information about his biological parents is known, except that his father was Byakuya's best friend. The circumstances that led to his adoption are unknown. During his childhood, Senku always had an interest in science, ever since he dreamed of traveling to space in first grade. From that moment on, Senku became obsessed with science and began working towards his dream of traveling to space, reading many books and doing many experiments and inventions. Over time, Senku obtained a laboratory thanks to his adoptive father, with which he could research much more efficiently. One day, some bullies began to kick his invention and Taiju defended him. With a beam that he created himself, he managed to get rid of them, becoming friends with Taiju. He showed him his plans and then asked him to run errands for things he needed to create a rocket. Later Yuzuriha would join them with some test dolls. A recurring experiment they did was sending light objects into orbit around the planet with homemade rockets. Yuzuriha, a member of the craft club, made stuffed animals of the 3 of them. The rocket didn't make it into space, but she was able to send the stuffed animals into space. To help Byakuya pass the swimming exam in the Astronaut Program by creating a modified suit to improve his swimming skills. Thanks to this, Byakuya managed to pass the physical exam and became an astronaut.

In addition to his scientific knowledge, Senku also possesses great wit and an analytical mind, seemingly never having a shortage of options at his disposal. Whatever he needs, he has an ally who can offer his strength. He also possesses great mental fortitude, able to think quickly on his feet and remain calm in the most dire of situations.
