Nate is roughly 6'4 with broad shoulders, a muscular body and dark eyes. He is described as having thick dark hair, however the cover art portrays a more medium-brown hair colour. He has a sharp jawline with stubble, dimples and strong cheekbones. He is often described as very good looking.

He is also described as half a foot taller, broader and more muscular than Aaron Carlisle.

Friends Robbie Hamlet

Robbie has been Nate's best friend ("personally terrorizing" him) since they were children. They met at 5 years old when Robbie's dad coached their ice hockey team, and Nate claims his been a “pain in his ass” ever since.

Jaiden Johal

JJ is one of Nate's best friends. JJ thoroughly enjoys messing with Nate and spends a lot of time doing it, even teaming up with Anastasia and other members of the team on occasion. He often talks about how much enjoyment he gets from messing with Nate in particular as he is so easy to rile up and always gives a satisfying reaction.

Henry Turner

Henry is one of Nate's best friends. Nate acts as somewhat of a mentor/older brother to Henry. He let Henry move into the apartment he shares with JJ and Robbie at the start of his sophomore year, as he hated living in the dorms and struggled to make friends outside the hockey team. Nate notes after only 3 weeks, Henry's confidence has already increased, and he now has no problem joining in
