Red is originally from Pallet Town. He became interested in Pokémon when his friend Blue (an arrogant and conceited person) went to Professor Oak's lab to choose a Pokémon, along with his rival, Blue, who is also Professor Oak's grandson.

Red is a tall boy with pale skin and light brown hair and eyes of the same color.

-Red wears a red, black, and white jacket, black and red sneakers, and light blue pants, as well as a yellow backpack where he carries his battle shield. His cap, as always, is white and red, this time with a half Poké Ball symbol instead of a pin.

Red starts out as a polite, well-meaning klutz with a heart of gold. He was named kind-heartedly by his father with a strong sense of adventure like a powerful Fire. However, he is not without his flaws, as he tends to forget about type combinations and towards the beginning of his journey, he viewed Pokémon as tools for battle rather than companions. Despite this, he learns from his mistakes very quickly, eventually allowing him to have the courage to stand up for what he believes is right, even if others disagree.

Much like in the games, Red is hinted at being a prodigy, as he managed to defeat Brock with very little experience and then go on to achieve incredible feats such as capturing Mewtwo and becoming Champion of Kanto.
