Satan is depicted as a titanic, muscular, red, dragon-like demon with four eyes and horns. He wears a black and red leather vest, and black pants adorned with an orange skull belt. Orange lava stripes can be seen on his wings, neck, and left arm, while the other is red. His two outer horns are colored with black and red stripes, while his two inner horns are black and white, and they are positioned in a manner resembling a pitchfork. He also has a large tail colored in red and orange with spikes protruding from his back.

In keeping with the sin he represents, Satan is portrayed as a very angry demon with anger issues and fits of rage that have spiraled out of control. His uncontrollable rage is so great that he requires a demonic therapist to act as a "shoulder angel" to remind him to keep his cool. Despite this, he can also be reasonable and quite sophisticated most of the time.

He is shown to have little to no care for the demons that rank below him in Hell's hierarchy, especially Imps, despite claiming to be their creator. To him, Imps (and likely Hellhounds and other Hell-born mortals) are nothing more than pawns who serve only to obey orders and do his jobs. Not even real demons escape his indifference, despite holding them in much higher regard, as he did not hesitate to strip Stolas of his power and title and give it to Andrealphus (until Octavia comes of age to inherit it). Not even his fellow Sins escape this, as he quickly rejected Asmodeus and Beelzebub's request to give Blitz a fair trial, using the opinion of the rest of the court to justify him.
