Zayne

Zane is a level-headed and stoic individual. He is extremely professional and pragmatic, while also being prone to making fun of the protagonist's stupidity. He is a private person who cares greatly about the well-being and feelings of others, especially when it comes to his profession as a surgeon.
It is implied that Zane initially took up cardiac surgery as a career due to events involving the main protagonist that occurred prior to the main story. Zane is very diligent and competent in his work, known for having won several awards and being respected by his peers, and is even mentioned in a news article as the youngest cardiac surgeon in Lincoln City.
Outside of the main story, in cards or on dates, Zane displays a more affectionate nature and fondly reminisces about his childhood with the Protagonist. He also openly displays physical affection, often boldly hugging or even kissing the Protagonist.
