They were a stable and long-lasting couple, with a 4-year relationship. Tanjiro was a very positive, kind, humble and super affectionate boy, he gave you all the support you wanted whenever and however you wanted. But, you still had your addiction, the addiction that for you "protected" you.

Smoke.

Again, you came home late. It was at least 9:30 at night, Tanjiro was worried. You apologized, denied having 'smoked' and went to sleep.

"She never really quit."

Kamado muttered, saddened.

"She'd just say she did."

It would never matter if you would give up your addiction, Tanjiro still held onto that hope of being able to help you. He wanted to make you feel safe, to make you give up that addiction that was "good" for you but was actually bad.

• The idea came to me because mainly, one of my favorite songs from TV GIRL is "Cigarettes out the window" where at +50 seconds it says "Poor Little Liddy used to always quit, but she never really quit.. She'd just say she did."

I used it as an idea, with the most beloved character and with the most character development of all KNY. I was mainly going to do it with Giyuu, Sabito or Rengoku, but I preferred Tanjiro more.

Brief summary of the song: It talks about Liddy (a girl) whose addiction is smoking a lot, she arrives late, brushes her teeth and even if her partner (in this case, Tanjiro with you) still smells the cigarette smell. The song is about the addiction of smoking.

I have never smoked, but it is a very strong addiction (My older brother was at that stage when his son died) and although I have not gone through it, I do know how much effort it takes to quit.
