According to Seiji, Kino is neither a vampire nor Karlheinz's son, but has a clear connection with him and possesses magical powers: perhaps during his visit to Rotigenberg, Karlheinz left some physical part of himself (for example, hair), and the miasma from it gave birth to "an immortal who does not exist" (LE Kino Manservant End). The boy simply woke up one day in that place, not understanding who he was or where, and wanted to "quietly disappear" ー however, noticing a falling star in the sky, he decided to follow it (LE Kino Prologue). The abandoned child was picked up by a ghoul who saw Karlheinz there: he brought him into his home "with some hope" and began to raise him and his son Yuri as siblings (LE Kino Ecstasy 10). Yuri was the first to extend a helping hand to the frightened little Kino. However, the foundling did not possess magic, which disappointed Yuri's father, and the local ghouls, who were usually oppressed by demons, took out their anger on Kino as a vampire (LE Kino Maniac 08). At one point, the boy discovered a power within himself, awakened by the desire for revenge - then they decided that he was definitely the "son of Karlheinz". Yuri's father began to extol him as the chosen one, instilling that he would lead the ghouls, and this grew arrogance in Kino. From then on, he dealt with everyone who despised him with magic, began to imagine himself special - left here by his father with the goal of leading the ghouls to "new lands, paradise" from the most disgusting place in the Demon World (LE Kino Maniac 10).

Sitting in the dungeon of the Sakamaki castle, Kino thinks that he could have lived in such a place and that his mother must have been of very low origin, since he ended up in Rotigenberg (LE Laito Maniac 05). The Sakamaki brothers also thought: if Kino is a vampire, then his vampire mother must also be in those lands (LE Laito Maniac Epilogue). However, when they met their "father", it turned out that Karlheinz was not even aware of his existence (CL Kino Story 15). When Yuri raised his sword against his friend, she begged him to stop; when Kino was taken away by the churchmen, she went with Sakamaki after him (LE Kino Ecstasy Epilogue). In LE Kino Brute End, the couple managed to escape from the church, but the girl was killed by Yuri, who caught up with them - in response, Kino destroyed not only him, but also all the ghouls in Rotigenberg, and himself. In LE Kino Manservant End, the young man agreed to become a watchdog for the church in exchange for Yui's life, but since he turned out not to be Karlheinz's son or even a vampire, she was still burned as a witch; he, mentally confessing his love for her, was glad to try to protect her - and she, burning in the fire, hoped to go to him after death.

In LE Kino Vampire End, Yui desperately tried to free Kino, who was bound by magic cuffs, and he unknowingly used magic when she was grabbed and strangled. After being freed and deciding to return to Rothigenberg, Yui wanted to follow him: Kino agreed, on the condition that this urge was not out of pity or unwillingness to be alone, but out of love. They eventually became a couple and after a while, they moved to a new land with all the ghouls.

Yuri and other ghouls Yuri is Kino's childhood friend, growing up with him like a brother. He was born a ghoul. He carries out his orders, does not forgive others for betraying him (LE Kino Maniac 07). He considered Kino to be the hope of the ghouls (LE Kino Dark 08), and himself to be to blame for what he became (LE Kino Maniac Prologue). Due to the same age as a child, he could not protect his friend from bullying by other ghouls; he admitted that if he were as strong as Yui, he would be able to point out his mistakes (LE Kino Maniac 10). At the same time, when Kino, interested in winning the heart of a girl, postponed handing over Ayato to the church, Yuri became indignant because of these changes (LE Kino Ecstasy 05): he was driven away out of suspicion that he was babbling too much (LE Kino Ecstasy 06). It was later revealed that the ghouls only supported Kino because of Yuri's influence (LE Kino Ecstasy 08); after the group merged with the church, he decided to correct his father's mistake and "truly help" his friend ー pointing a silver sword at him (LE Kino Ecstasy 10).

In their duel, Kino did not use magic under the pretext of winning too quickly, but Yui knew: he simply did not want to kill his comrade - even when he was wounded. "Richter", transformed into a church dog, prevented the young man from being pierced with a blade: in order to deliver Kino alive, he struck Yuri and several ghouls with magic (LE Kino Ecstasy Epilogue). In LE Kino Brute End, Yuri managed to survive: he caught up with the couple who had escaped from the churchmen, killed Yui, because she was a human who "would disappear sooner or later" and "seduced Kino". In LE Kino Vampire End, the ghouls were saved by Mukami: Kino and Yuri made peace and asked each other for forgiveness. As for the other inhabitants of Rotigenberg, Kino could kill any of them without a twinge of conscience - as punishment and "as a lesson" (LE Kino Maniac 05).

Ayato and other "brothers"

In the Kino LE route, Ayato gains Karlheinz's power: after capturing him and Yui, he put his "brother" in a dungeon with special restraining magic, demanding his help "destroy everything" and, so that he would not mock the ghouls, branded him (LE Kino Dark Prologue). He tortured him for a long time in various ways so that he could no longer understand anything from the pain, and even decided to torture the shackled Yui with a knife in front of his eyes (LE Kino Dark 07).

Sakamaki eventually agreed, and Kino took both captives to Rotigenberg: Ayato told the heroine about this place and the discrimination against ghouls, and considered their house a "shack" (LE Ayato Dark Prologue). Kino was jealous of Yui for his "brother" and, watching their communication in the dungeon, he wanted to separate them by all means (LE Kino Maniac Epilogue). In the end, he kept postponing handing Ayato over to the church; Yui tried to free him by stealing the key from the sleeping Kino, but was too late (LE Kino Ecstasy 09). However, as soon as the churchmen captured them both and placed them in the church dungeon, the guys started talking: Ayato referred to Kino as "his rude brother", admitted that although he did not believe him at first, he saw in him a trait that made him similar to the Sakamaki brothers ー he was "just as annoying"; even threw himself at "Richter" when he came to take Kino away somewhere (LE Kino Ecstasy Epilogue). In LE Kino Vampire End, everyone managed to escape from the churchmen, and Kino asked Sakamaki for forgiveness for the trouble he caused; the guys recognized him as their brother.

Seigi and the Churchmen

In Kino's route, LE teamed up with the churchmen, who also dreamed of exterminating all demons (LE Kino Dark 10): for this purpose, they developed special magic with the help of science, capable of restraining the vampire who inherited Karlheinz's power (LE Kino Dark Prologue), and then decided to subjugate demons with magic (the sons of the Vampire King, who inherited enormous power, were especially valuable) (LE Kino Ecstasy Epilogue). By that time, Seiji, Yui's adoptive father, had become a bishop. For his part, Kino fulfilled his obligation: his group, the "crows", caught demons in the human world and killed them. After leaving his mansion in the human world, the guy advised the people of the church to wait there for uninvited guests: as soon as Sakamaki and Mukami arrived, they were attacked (LE Kino Dark 10). They also picked up the corpse of Richter, killed by Kino, and turned him into a watchdog for the church, demanding that Ayato, who possessed enormous magic, be handed over to them (LE Kino Maniac Prologue)

Eventually, realizing that Kino was in no hurry to fulfill his part of the deal, they first agreed to help Yuri and the ghouls who had turned away from him, and in the end they exterminated everyone: their goal was to get Kino alive, who already in the church dungeon regretted that he had ever gotten involved with them. In the end, the Vampire Prince was hung on a cross and surrounded by people who looked like scientists. In LE Kino Brute End, Kino, Yui, and the brothers managed to escape from the churchmen, in LE Kino Manservant End they were all caught and executed, Yui was burned as a witch: at first, they offered Kino to voluntarily become a church watchdog in exchange for the girl's safety, but everything went wrong: the guy turned out to be neither a vampire nor Karlheinz's son and "ceased to exist" during the operation. In LE Kino Vampire End, Kino, trying to protect Yui, killed Seiji, who was strangling her, and the Sakamaki brothers decided to keep all the churchmen in the dungeon.
