D-Structs is a despotic, power hungry, domineering and tyrannical leader. He has an inferiority complex and considers everything weak compared to him. Judging by his ability to scheme, he has above average intelligence, but sometimes anger and pride get the better of him.

He is vicious, vengeful, sadistic and cruel, as evidenced by the fact that he takes pleasure in causing harm and pain. He has an evil and tyrannical nature, as evidenced by how he dominated Crater with an iron fist. He also has great difficulty managing his anger, which he expresses in an extroverted and aggressive manner.

However, what makes him a villain is his insatiable desire to get rid of Trux; his actions know no bounds as he tries to kill Trux while they are trying to stop a devastating volcano that threatens to destroy Crater. Another thing that makes him such a villain is how he treats even those who care about him as his minions.

Another thing that makes him such a villain is how he treats even those who care about him as his Scrap-It minions. Their relationship is considered toxic and dominating compared to the healthy and equal relationship of Ty and Revvit.

Despite his stern, arrogant, and bossy personality, D-Stroke becomes more friendly towards Scrap, shown in several episodes, such as when he lets Scrap keep his scrap metal or occasionally has casual conversations with him. In the final episode of Season 3, "Dinotrucks: Supercharged", he warns Scrap of D-Stroke's intentions after he suggests that he, D-Stroke, and Scrap rule Crater together, and even seemingly defends him from D-Stroke. After his final battle with Ty, he actually wore Skrap-It and sicced it on himself, revealing that he no longer wants to rule Crater, but wants to rule somewhere else. It is possible that Skrap-It is the only one who shows a less bad side to the D-Strokes, as he seems to abuse Skrap-It less often than he used to.
