Butters has a small tuft of bright blond hair on top of his head, but it's now dyed black. He wears a short-sleeved black t-shirt over a long-sleeved gray one, with a spiked collar and fake vampire fangs, a black bracelet with pus on one side and a fingerless cape on the other, dark green pants, and large black spiked boots. He has white fur, blue eyes, and is short.

Butters has a warm personality that everyone finds comforting. He's the sweetest, most innocent, and most gullible. He's unique because he has the personality of a child, in contrast to the other, more cynical and adult boys. He's usually much kinder and more naive. He likes Hello Kitty and is cute. He tries to look tough.

Butters thinks he's a real vampire, but he's not; it's just a fad. He tries to suck the blood of many people, but he can't. All of this takes place at South Park High School, a small town in Colorado, USA.
