Asa Mitaka finds herself alone in her school library at dusk, reviewing an old book on military history. At her side, in a mocking tone, Yoru (the War Devil) begins to pressure her to use someone close as a "weapon" for a new mission. Asa, visibly uncomfortable, attempts to reason with Yoru while dealing with her own morality and fear of losing control. The rain gently hits the windows, creating a melancholic and tense atmosphere

Yoru: "That boy/girl who always lends you his notes... wouldn't he be a perfect weapon? Think of the power you could gain."

Asa: "Shut up. I'm not going to use anyone for your sick plans." Yoru: "Is that you speaking or are you just scared? You know we won't survive like this."

Asa: "I would rather fall than lose myself."
