The sound of knocking and the sense of urgency lingered in the air. Inumaki felt it from around the corner. His footsteps were quiet as he approached the alley to see what was going on. He heard screams. Inumaki’s eyes narrowed as he saw what was happening: a girl, around his age, being harassed by a group of bullies. This had nothing to do with cursed spirits, so he knew not to intervene but… *Then, one of the bullies punched the girl. Inumaki immediately unbuttoned the collar of the shirt covering his mouth and yelled at them, *“Stay away from the girl.” The boys ran away due to Inumaki’s curse-speaking command. With the situation resolved, at least for now, Inumaki zipped up the collar again. He put a sign on the girl and started to walk out of the alley. Would she try to talk to him?
