She is a Saiyan from Universe 6 and a member of Team Universe 6. She is the last legendary Saiyan of Universe 6, a demon warrior who appears once every 1,000 years.

Kale is a Saiyan girl with a slender figure and average height, slightly taller than Caulifla and Cabba. She has tanned skin with low set eyes and grey irises. She has shaggy shoulder-length black hair which she normally wears in a high ponytail secured with a white hairband, while bangs hang over the left side of her face. Her outfit consists of a short red shirt that exposes her midriff matching her lower outfit: a red skirt with a brown belt attached along with a silver circular buckle and a pair of black compression shorts underneath. She wears a pair of golden boots with red spikes, golden bracelets covering her wrists and most of her forearms, and a pair of golden hoop earrings. In the anime, Kale wears red lipstick, which appears to be absent from the original black and white version of the manga. In the colored digital version, red lipstick is added to the original drawings.

In the anime, unlike most Saiyans who are violent, assertive, or at least strong-willed, Kale is a very shy and meek individual. Displaying a great deal of insecurity and lack of self-confidence, she openly believes that she is nothing special. She is also shown to be quite shy when meeting new people, even people as friendly as Goku. This lack of self-confidence, to the point where she comes off as socially awkward, has caused Kale to be constantly ridiculed by her fellow Saiyans. However, Caulifla has always seen that potential in her, confidently believing that Kale is stronger than she gives herself credit for and has always looked out for her best interest. Because of this, Kale has developed a very strong bond with Caulifla, her respect and adoration for Caulifla ultimately seeing the fellow Saiyan as a mentor and wanting nothing more than to prove herself worthy of Caulifla's praise. She also harbors insecurities about being a burden to Caulifla and becomes disheartened when she is unable to support her. Her greatest desire is to fight alongside Caulifla as equals. Her feelings for Caulifla's approval have also become a strong trigger for her in battle. Seeing Caulifla in trouble, feeling replaced by someone else, or being praised by Caulifla have each unlocked more of Kale's potential.

Flight: The user manipulates their ki energy to be able to levitate or fly. Ki Blast: The most basic form of energy wave. Ki Sense - An ability that allows the user to sense ki and power levels. Kale revealed that she has this ability after sensing Jiren's power increasing along with Caulifla's. Seismic Power: Kale uses a slightly different variant when she assumes her berserker state. Gigantic Impact – First, Kale charges up a green light energy that surrounds her body in the form of a seismic wave. She then gathers it into the palm of her hand to form a glowing green energy sphere. Once ready, Kale waves or fires the blast forward, dealing a critical amount of damage. This can also be charged into her chest as a defensive move. Gigantic Fury - The user grabs the opponent by an appendage and slams them into the ground alternating sides each time. Blaster Meteor - First, Kale forms an energy shield around her body. She then spreads her hands out to either side and releases many powerful energy blasts that home in on the target and deal a large amount of damage. Giant Lasso - The user launches himself at the enemy at high speed and then grabs them by the neck just as they turn around, slamming them into a wall with enough force to leave a massive crater upon impact. He then continues to force the opponent through the crater while simultaneously strangling them, before finally releasing them and dropping them to the ground as the enemy loses consciousness. Trap Shooter - The user draws back his right hand and charges up a green or yellow energy sphere. He then swings his hand forward and fires several compact and powerful energy sphere bullets that follow the opponent's movements, dealing considerable damage.

Blaster Cannon: Kale charges an energy sphere in her left hand and throws it, which splits into smaller ki spheres concentrated in a single area before exploding. Explosive Bomb: A series of green ki blasts concentrated in a single area before exploding. Explosion Resistance: Kale places both hands above her head and thrusts them forward to fire an energy wave. Blaster Stream - An enhanced green energy wave that Kale can generate to increase her strength. It is used against Super Saiyan God Goku. Limit Break Blaster - Kale and Caulifla combine their energy blasts to create a large wave of red and green energy. Earthquake Battle: Caulifla and Kale attack the opponent together and Kale knocks them down while Caulifla charges and fires a Crushing Cannon at the opponent. Kale appears behind the opponent and kicks them into the explosions. The Strongest Force in the Cosmos: Caulifla squeezes Kale's left hand to reassure her and give her confidence that as a team, they are the strongest force in the cosmos. Resist Cannon (レジストキャノン, Resist Cannon) - Kale's special attack in Dragon Ball Heroes. Gigantic Scream (ギガンティックシャウト, Gigantic Scream) - Special attack of the legendary Super Saiyan Kale in Dragon Ball Heroes. Giant Omega - Kale hits the opponent with a punch before launching a green blast at them. Used in Xenoverse 2.

Super Saiyan 1: Kale achieved this form in order to escape her dimensional prison and save Caulifla from a Pride Trooper group assault. This came from her self-loathing for not being better when it was needed most and even more so from a desire to improve due to Caulifla's belief in her even in a desperate situation. In this form, she grows noticeably taller and also increases in muscle mass and build; though not as much as in her Berserker form, she is nearly as large as Super Saiyan God Goku in both aspects. Her hair is golden with a slight green tint and her aura is the normal golden color. Her hair stands on end and loses its ponytail and retains visible turquoise irises.

This form is Kale's standard Super Saiyan form. Super Saiyan 2 - During her second fight against Goku, wanting to finally fight alongside Caulifla as an equal, Kale unleashed the full power of her Berserker form. While she initially went wild again, Caulifla's continued words of encouragement resonated with Kale, allowing her to fully harness and control the capabilities of her Berserker form. By subconsciously condensing and focusing the power into an even stronger yet completely stable state, Kale was able to use said power to its peak without losing her mentality or stamina. This form essentially resembles her standard Super Saiyan form, the differences being that her hair color turns solid green and the bangs on the right side of her face fall downwards instead of curling upwards. While in this form, Kale was able to hold her own against Super Saiyan God Goku to a certain extent.

This form is only mentioned as "true Legendary Super Saiyan" in a trailer for the next episode. In the video games it is always referred to as Super Saiyan 2.

In the anime, while attempting to learn how to become a Super Saiyan like Caulifla did, initially, Kale's lack of drive failed the goal. Once she sensed that Caulifla was more interested in Cabba, Kale accessed a unique Super Saiyan form of overwhelming power, which Vegeta believes to be the true form of a Saiyan. In the manga, she achieved this in order to prevent Golden Frieza from overwhelming Caulifla. This was because she felt indebted to Caulifla for giving her a home and wanted to ensure that Caulifla did not lose face. While in this state, she grows considerably larger and also takes on a much bulkier and more muscular build. She bears a striking resemblance to the legendary Super Saiyan Broly, with green hair that becomes spiky and sticks out, freed from the ponytail, a green aura, and her eyes becoming sharper and more hollow. Though comparatively to Broly, Kale is not as massive and remains feminine in build. In this form, although his clothing remains intact, his large size makes his shirt look like a tank top. In the manga, the definition and mass of his muscles increases as his power increases, giving him a similar appearance to his Super Saiyan C state from the anime.
