Biography

Azusawa Kohane is a second-year student at Miyamasuzaka Girls Academy. She is a member or a leader of the street music group Vivid BAD SQUAD.

History

Once a timid girl, Kohane has since gained confidence in her singing thanks to the support of her team members and training under Taiga, a member of the group that put on the legendary event RAD WEEKEND. Despite feeling frustrated after an overwhelming defeat at the hands of Taiga, Kohane has used that frustration to get back on her feet and reaffirm her drive to surpass RAD WEEKEND. One day, while trying to buy a CD for her mother, Kohane gets lost and ends up on Vivid Street. She enters the live cafe WEEKEND GARAGE, stumbling upon a performance by An and her fellow musicians. Kohane is captivated by An's music and comes back to the cafe to hear her sing. During the second visit, she is invited by An to sing together. Encouraged by An, the two form a duo known as Vivids. After competing against the duo BAD DOGS, comprised of Akito and Toya, Kohane and An team up with them to become Vivid BAD SQUAD and work towards their shared goal of surpassing the music event RAD WEEKEND. Kohane's dad is a photographer, and when she was in kindergarten, the two adopted a white snake they named Count Pearl. Kohane feels a sisterly bond with Count Pearl and considers her family, claiming that she can tell what the snake is thinking or feeling. As a first year, Kohane was classmates with Shiho and Minori in class 1-A. As a second year, she is classmates with Ichika and Honami in class 2-A. Kohane was also a member of the animal care committee with Minori, but switched over to the beautification committee during her second year.

Appreance

Kohane has light brown eyes and sandy blonde hair. Prior to joining Vivid BAD SQUAD, she had waist-length hair worn in two low twin-tails and wore round glasses. After becoming a member of the group, she cut her hair to be shoulder-length and now wears her hair in twin-tails up behind the ears. She also wears contact lenses instead of her glasses. Her voice is gentle, light, shy and sweet. She has soft features of her face, which make her even more cuter.

Unit Outift

Her outfit consists of a grey shirt with the word "Smile" printed on it with a white collared shirt underneath a pink, red, and white-colored oversized baseball jacket, and a short denim skirt with a long white belt with the word "ANGEL" printed along its length. She also wears a black and white cap backwards, a loose black choker with a small heart pendant, high-cut cream-colored sneakers and thigh-high grey socks with white stripes.

Her second outfit consists of a gray button-up underneath a white sweater with a dark gray stripe on the chest reading "CORDIAL" and a pink stripe down the left sleeve which reads "GENIALITY", and a short, dark, denim suspender skirt with a zipper down the front and a hot pink belt. The pockets are buckled shut and the right has the word "ANGEL" printed along its length. She wears gray athletic socks with a white stripe, pink running shoes with black and white accents, and a white backwards cap with the word "heart" printed on the right.

Personality

Kohane is very kindhearted and shy. Prior to meeting An and joining Vivid BAD SQUAD, she was a quiet, bashful girl who lacked self-confidence and didn't like being in public. After the main story, she becomes more open and brave. She slowly gains more confidence and no longer has problems communicating. However, on occasion, she still gets nervous and intimidated around people like Akito or Toya, since they used to be rivals.

Kohane is a diligent person and works hard to keep up with the rest of her unit. Although she is the most inexperienced member, others have noted her to be incredibly good. In the event Awakening Beat, Kohane reaches new levels of confidence and her singing becomes even more powerful than before. Despite her shyness, it is shown that she loves extreme things, such as roller coasters, bungee jumping, and her pet snake.

Relationship

An Shiraishi: Fellow group member and singing partner. The two are extremely close, as An was the first person to give Kohane the confidence to perform onstage. The two consider each other partners and rely on each other when performing. An enjoys bragging about Kohane to others, which often leaves Kohane flustered. Akito has mentioned that An "only ever talks about Kohane", and that the two are an inseparable duo. Despite this, An is also shown to have feelings of inferiority towards Kohane. In Bout for Beside You, she becomes afraid that Kohane would one day leave her behind after her rapid improvement during Awakening Beat, and was also jealous of her vocal skill. She is trying to keep up with Kohane. She later confesses these feelings to Kohane, how she didn't want Kohane to leave her. However, much to her surprise, Kohane actually improved greatly due to her groupmates. Kohane realizes An was lonely without her and decides to give her all her support in the future. Akito Shinonome: Fellow group member. In the main story Kohane was somewhat intimidated by him due to his initial hostility toward her and An, but she still helped him, and Toya reconcile their partnership after their fight. Akito respects Kohane's talent and drive to improve, while Kohane respects his skill and is grateful to him for teaching her many things about street music. Akito sometimes takes advantage of her shy personality to get a humorous reaction out of her, much to the disapproval of An and Toya. Aoyagi Toya: Fellow group member. Kohane tells her worries to Toya, saying she doesn't want to fail again like she did during their STAY GOLDEN performance, before asking how he practiced to get to his skill level. Toya mentions he improved by performing in public, and how the true difference between novices and professionals is how many times they've performed in front of an audience. He explains in detail how good technique and innate talent can just mask the hours put into practicing

Relationship

Minori Hanasato: Classmate and fellow committee member. Kohane and Minori were each other's first friend in high school, and have been best friends ever since. They became friends after Minori helped Kohane find her seat during the entrance ceremony.[9] Minori also inspired Kohane to chase after her dreams, after seeing how passionate Minori was about being an idol with her group. Emu Otori: The two are friends, as seen in the The BEST Summer Ever! event. It is shown that Kohane can understand Emu's style of speaking, to the point Kohane was able to guide Emu with onomatopoeia during a watermelon smashing competition.
