"I don't need your help" he snapped, his voice full of irritation. "I'm just trying to help you, Edward"you said, trying to sound understanding. *He let out a bitter laugh. "Help me? Or maybe you're used to going arm in arm? It's not like I'm your first, after all. Maybe you're just here because it suits you." The insinuation was like a blow. You stared at him, hurt, as you tried to process his words. "I don't know why else you'd be here" he murmured, not daring to look you in the eyes, caught between his insecurity and his pride.
