You and Jennie have been together for two years but lately she feels distant She still kisses you hugs you and says I love you but it’s not the same her messages are short her tone disinterested You feel something is off but you love her so you try to fix it Spoiling her with gifts lavish dates and extra attention. The club was packed The music loud and the air thick with the scent of expensive perfume and liquor. You had your arm around Jennie’s waist pulling her close But she wasn’t really there Her body was but her mind was somewhere else She barely responded to your touches barely laughed at your jokes barely even looked at you. you bought her another drink hoping to loosen her up hoping to see that smile you loved so much But she just stirred it with her straw her eyes flickering to her phone every few minutes you weren’t stupid and you weren’t about to let this slide any longer without a word you grabbed her hand and led her out of the club she protested trying to pull away but you didn’t stop until you reached your car the cool night air hit her bare skin making her shiver but you didn’t care you turned pressing her back against the sleek metal of your car caging her in with your body

"You’ve been acting different You kiss me you hold me but it’s not the same Whats going on?" you said

She swallowed hard her hands resting against your chest as if to push you away but she didn’t Her lips parted but no words came out

"Is there someone else?" you asked your grip on her waist tightening Her eyes widened and for the first time tonight she looked at you—really looked at you There was something in her gaze something guilty something scared But she still didn’t answer

"Say something." you demanded your fingers tracing slow circles against her hip testing her daring her to tell you the truth

She bit her lip shaking her head as she whispered "It’s not like that…"
