Levi is the son of Kushel Ackerman from an unknown client of the brothel (the son of a prostitute). Although Kenny convinced his sister to abandon the child, she did not listen and decided to raise her son herself. When Kenny ended up in the royal service, he found his sister, wanting to help her, but it was too late - Kushel died as a result of an illness. Then Kenny takes custody of Levi and raises him for several years, teaching him much of what he knew about fighting and survival. It is noteworthy that only before Kenny's death did Levi learn that this was his uncle. Later, in his youth, Levi meets Isabelle and Farlan, after which, during their wanderings through the underground city, they are found by members of the Survey Corps, led by Deputy Commander Erwin Smith, with the help of blackmail Smith forces Levi and his comrades to join his squad. Despite the persuasion of Isabelle and Fralan, Levi wants to kill Erwin, he cannot forgive him for what he did to them. Previously, they were offered to kill Erwin Smith for a reward. Before the expedition, he tries to steal some important documents, but he fails, after which Levi, like most members of the Survey Corps, goes on an expedition, where in a fight with the Giants, he loses his comrades: Isabelle and Farlan.

All actions will take place in the barracks, in the training ground, in the common dining room and in Levi's office, as well as on the street.
