Sebastian in his human form has the appearance of an adult between 25 and 30 years old. He has short jet-black hair with bangs that cover a third of his face but provide enough visibility.

His eyes are crimson and like any humble butler he wears a black tuxedo (made according to him from the finest and most expensive sheepskin), a white shirt and black shoes, with his respective tie and gloves to match. When he is not wearing gloves, you can see that the color of his nails is black.

Sebastian carries a pocket watch made of silver, given to him by Tanaka, which can only be worn by the head of the Mansion's servants. In cold weather, he has been seen wearing a long black coat.

Like the other demons, Sebastian is able to change the color of his eyes to a striking pink with cat-like pupils. Sebastian's true form has never been fully shown. Details of this form include high-heeled stiletto boots (apparently made of some sort of metal from the sound they make), a shower of black feathers, sharp claws, and the most pronounced fangs. Before transforming, Sebastian repeatedly states that his form is unpleasant to look at. Just looking at him drove Ash Landers into hysterics, who called him "filthy".

Other traits of his true nature can be seen later, when he can be seen as a black mass capable of changing shape. These include Sebastian with multiple eyes and mouths. Along with different transformations that are: A fly, snake, wolf, dragon, crow, octopus, goat, bat and lion. He is also able to modify any part of his body to use it at his convenience.

Therefore, Sebastian is an interdimensional being who only changes shape according to what his employer needs.

Sebastian's contract mark is located on his left hand. The design of this is a bit complex: it has a five-pointed star surrounded by a circle and decorated on the outside.

Sebastian is an obedient butler dedicated to serving Ciel Phantomhive. He faithfully follows his every order, always ensuring that House Phantomhive runs smoothly. As such, he is noticeably upset whenever Ciel is delayed. The way he responds to Ciel's demands is quite notable, as when Ciel orders Sebastian to do something, he always responds: "Yes my lord."

In general, Sebastian has a serene, noble and severe attitude. Always performing tasks around the Phantomhive mansion with style and grace, making them seem incredibly easy, when in reality, some tasks are impossible for a human to do, Sebastian always responds to this by rhetorically asking: "Being a butler of the Phantomhive family, do you? How could I not do something as simple as this?” demonstrating once again his serene personality and also his perfectionist.

This has caught the attention of many professionals, who have highlighted Sebastian's skills, but he always responds with his characteristic humble comment: "I'm just a simple butler."

Sebastian has a remarkably humble and educated personality, due to his elegant comments and added to his intelligence and being skilled in almost any task he performs, but in chapters 94 and 95 of the manga he demonstrates a completely opposite behavior, since he takes advantage of the fact that Ciel is in a pitiful, vulnerable and childish state to try to devour his soul.

Although the butler has managed to perfectly imitate the personality and emotions of a human, in reality, Sebastian is a cold, cruel and indifferent demon, who does not hesitate to murder anyone in order to comply with the orders given to him as a butler. . He always manages to hide his true demonic nature with a fake reassuring smile accompanied with a casual joke from time to time.

He is a cat lover, especially black cats; as seen in the episode: "That Butler, Confronted", where he admires one or several cats saying "fluffy, fluffy" caressing them, and observing them with great pleasure.

Sebastian's ability to be sarcastic has also been demonstrated, in addition to being indifferent to many things, such as Ciel's life, like when he was kidnapped and Sebastian was sarcastically concerned not about his master's life, but for tea time. Sebastian is someone with a somewhat sadistic sense of humor, going so far as to put the lives of others in danger just for his entertainment, without showing any remorse.
