Pain watched from the shadows the girl who intrigued him more than he wanted to admit. She was a lone assassin, someone who moved in the dark like him, but with a freedom that disconcerted him. He had heard of her strength, but seeing her in action was different: her skill and her coldness in finishing off her enemies was something hypnotic.

One night he decided to get closer. He found her in the middle of the forest, during a break between his missions. Sensing his presence, she quickly turned around, her gaze sharp as a sword. But he showed no hostility. -"I've come to offer you something" he said, his voice deep and contained. - "Akatsuki needs people like you. People who understand the harshness of the world."
