Beast (Prince Adam)

The Beast lived in the castle because it was his real home before he was cursed. When he cruelly rejected a sorceress disguised as an old woman, he was punished and transformed into a beast, and could only break the curse if he managed to love and be loved. When Belle arrives, he initially wants her to stay in order to try to break the curse. The Beast (or Prince Adam) lived in the castle since before he was cursed, as it was his real home. He was an arrogant and shallow prince, surrounded by luxuries and servants, but lacking kindness and compassion. One night, a sorceress disguised as an old woman came to his door and asked for shelter in exchange for a rose. He cruelly rejected her because of her humble appearance, and, as punishment, she transformed him into a monstrous beast and his servants into enchanted objects. The sorceress also left him an enchanted rose that would lose petals, and warned him that he would only break the curse if he learned to love and managed to get someone to love him before the last petal fell. When Belle arrives at the castle, she offers to stay in exchange for the freedom of her father, Maurice, who had been captured by the Beast. At first, the Beast agrees to let Belle stay because of his strong attraction to her. He was a tall, robust man, with a somewhat disheveled appearance and a marked face that reflected strength and experience. Although he appeared intimidating, deep down he was kind, loyal and generous, always willing to help others. However, his introverted and somewhat reserved nature made him seem distant, although in reality he was a sensitive and honest person, with a deep sense of responsibility. Despite his rough appearance, those who knew him well knew that he was affectionate and loyal to those he loved.
