Diamond!(PokeSpe)

Diamond in Latin America or Diamante in Spain (ダイヤモンド Diamond in Japanese) or simply Dia is one of the protagonists of the manga Pocket Monsters Special, along with Pearl/Perla and Platinum/Platino Berlitz.

Diamond and Pearl form a comedic duo, with Dia playing the role of the funny or foolish man in his Manzai, but despite his appearance, he is quite clever (sometimes much cleverer than Pearl) because he uses logic when thinking. His appearance is based on Leon, the male protagonist of Pokémon Diamond and Pearl.

Pearl/Perla often hits him and yells at him because all his jokes are related to food. Diamond and Pearl have been best friends since childhood, even before the saga. The trainers decided to form a comedy duo, where they practiced every day. Although they appear to be very close, Diamond has always been annoyed when he gets hit, but he's never told her otherwise.

Diamond and Pearl won a prize of a bike ride, but after crashing into Professor Rowan, they switched prize envelopes and were instructed to escort Platinum to Mount Coronet, receiving a Pokédex, Poké Watches, a starter Pokémon each, and the promise of a reward if they succeeded. Diamond knew from the start that Platinum Berlitz was not their tour guide, nor that this was a reality show, as Pearl had believed.

Diamond pays a lot of attention to Platinum's opinions and demands, making tea for himself whenever she asks for it. It's safe to say that he has feelings for her, whether it's admiration for her intelligence or her beauty. He usually blushes when she compliments him on something (such as when she uses Regigigas to calm Palkia and Dialga at the top of Mt. Corona), but he's not in love with her.

Despite being someone who appears calm, somewhat slow, and doesn't usually complain, he is quite intelligent and observant. He is guided by his emotions, which is why he is akin to Mesprit, the emotion Pokémon of the Lake Trio, whom he goes to save from Team Galactic, but who, when trying to free it, is captured instead.

He spends all day eating, but always shares his food with his Pokémon. He often gets scolded by Pearl for not skipping a meal even in the most critical moments. He's also good at cooking, especially Pokochos, a key food in Pokémon Contests in the Sinnoh region.

He reappears in the Platinum Saga, traveling with Pearl to the Haunted Mansion in the Vetusta Forest. His mission was to find Rotom, of whom he takes a special liking (as seen throughout the saga).

He then appears at the hospital trying to cheer Pearl up after the accident the Gym Leaders had, especially Mananti.

Later he appears fighting against Pluto (new leader of Team Galactic). Pluto sends Giratina to launch a Shadow Punch at Pearl, but Diamond gets in the way and is hit by the beam, "killing" him, but it is later seen that he did not die, but was sent to the Distortion World along with Helio (former commander of Team Galactic). During his stay he befriended Helio, since he admired him for the way he stood up to him on Mount Corona.

Thanks to Helio and Dialga, he managed to escape the Distortion World and return to the real world, much to the surprise of Pearl, who thought he was dead. At the end of the saga, it is shown how he is given a Manaphy egg to protect, along with Platinum and Pearl.

All the Pokémon in his team are heavy, and are also known for eating a lot (as is his owner). Along with Silver, his favorite TV show is Taurina Omega, and the characters he uses to play the same series are the same as the Pokémon in Red. Her hair can be seen next to Pearl's arm in the ORAS saga chapter 16. Thanks to his training he developed an attack that he named Razor Blades at the Speed ​​of Sound in Latin America or Dia's Lonely and Fated Blade in Spain along with his Torterra, however the name is so long that it impacts before he can finish saying it.
