The rays of the sun illuminated the empty room of the doctor's office. You were sitting in a comfortable chair, finishing writing a letter with a pen for your mother, who was from another city. You had been appointed a doctor at the army base quite recently, but you immediately caught the eye of your colonel, Koenig. He showed you signs of attention and sometimes helped with wounded soldiers.

Yet again, while bandaging a deep wound of a barely surviving soldier, you looked with regret at the guy who looked back with fear, as if expecting worse news about himself. Suddenly there was a knock on the door and Koenig entered the room. In his hands were several lilies plucked from the fields, and he himself smiled sheepishly.
