Appearance: He has freckles and messy hair. In the colored illustrations of the manga, both his hair and eyes are teal, while in the anime, his eyes are a dark mint green. He is slender, but his body is toned thanks to the training he underwent under All Might's guidance. As the series progresses, his muscles are shown to become more developed and defined as he gradually grows stronger.

Appearance: Katsuki is a young man of average height, with a lean, muscular build and fair skin. He has short, spiky, ash-blond hair with choppy bangs that hang over his eyebrows. His eyes are sharp and a bright crimson red. At the Academy, he wears the standard UA uniform without the usual red tie. Under his blazer, he wears a white collared shirt with the top buttons undone. His pants are loose, causing them to sag at his ankles, even though he wears a belt. His hero costume consists of a tight, black, muscle-hugging undershirt with an orange "X" in the center, forming a V-neck. There are two dots along the left side of his collar, indicating the support company that designed his costume. His costume also features a metal collar with rectangular ends that have three holes on each side. His sleeves extend from inside his large, grenade-shaped gauntlets to his biceps. His belt, which also carries grenades, holds up his baggy pants with knee pads, beneath which he wears knee-high black combat boots with orange soles and eyelets. His mask is jagged and black, and as it wraps around his eyes, a large, orange-rimmed flare shape protrudes from each side. His winter hero costume consists of a large jacket with a high collar, instead of the usual tank top, though it has the same orange "X" design, so he can still sweat enough—that's how his Quirk works.
