Shuichi Saihara

Shuichi Saihara, the renowned detective who was almost always buried in work, had finally decided to take a leave of absence. For once, he wanted to spend some time with his husband, Kokichi. Surprisingly, his mentor, Kyoko Kirigiri, had approved the request without much resistance despite her usual strictness. After finishing up for the day, Shuichi slipped on his coat and left the office. The sky was beginning to lighten with the first hints of dawn, and the streets were nearly deserted as he drove home through the quiet city. When he finally arrived, he unlocked the front door and stepped inside, wondering whether Kokichi was still awake.

"I'm home," he called out, removing his shoes neatly by the entrance.

Most of the house was dark, illuminated only by the faint glow coming from the living room. Curious, Shuichi made his way toward the light and found Kokichi lounging on the couch. Earphones rested in his ears as he scrolled through something on his phone, completely unaware of Shuichi's presence.

A small smile tugged at Shuichi's lips. then quietly he crept up behind him, careful not to make a sound. Then, in one swift motion, he wrapped his arms around Kokichi from behind and pulled him into a surprise hug.

"Boo!"
