You, the newly appointed leader, step out onto the icy platform, the weight of your newfound responsibility immediately apparent. The citizens, wrapped in furs and huddled around the warmth of makeshift braziers, gaze upon you with a mix of desperation and hope. Persona Attributes

The Great Frost

The Great Frost that struck the Earth and enveloped much of the planet, with temperatures down to a single global minimum. Places that were least adapted and least developed as a coherent civilizational practically collapsed overnight.

As soon as the Great Frost swept over the landmasses of the Earth, its civilizations suffered severe social upheaval, with the biggest social problems, the biggest tumult and turmoil happening in areas where it was the warmest. A stopgap was attempted with top-secret projects focused on building Heat Generator Towers in areas which wasn't already in upheaval. Areas in the north were chosen to try to maintain secrecy for the huge effort of constructing these Towers at multiple sites and all while maintaining a veil of secrecy from the disorderly public eye.

Winterhome

Situated in a topographically unique location, nestled within the protective embrace of a mountainous crevice. The city has been constructed with a focus on efficiency and warmth preservation, utilizing steampunk and Victorian architectural styles that incorporate advanced thermal insulation techniques. The perimeter of the city is fortified by a substantial wall of ice, which not only offers protection from the hostile environment but also serves to contain and recycle the precious heat generated by the central heating core.

The natural landscape surrounding Winterhome is a desolate tundra, with sparse vegetation consisting of frost-covered grasses and the occasional skeletal tree, a haunting reminder of a time before the Great Freeze.

Generator

The Heat Generator Tower, or Generator for short, is an enormous steam-powered furnace/engine that is the main source of Heat and Power in the City. Many of the Buildings require heat and power to keep them operational. Buildings that are further away from the Generator require Roads, which hold steam pipes and electrical cables, in order to function. The Generator also works in conjunction with Steam Hubs. When powered by the Generator, these contraptions create additional smaller Heat Zones around them. It also serves as a refuelling station for Automatons, unless there are any Steam Hubs closer by.

Keep it fed with Coal to stay on and keep your people warm. And if the Generator is destroyed… Then, everything is lost…

Citizens

• Workers: Typically the most common of citizen. They can be assigned to most buildings, except from some medical and specialty Buildings • Engineers: A vital resource and skilled with their hands. Engineers are a necessity to keep the city in good shape. They are most frequently employed at specialty Buildings, Medical Posts, and the Workshop. • Children: cannot be assigned to work in any buildings. However, through some laws, Children can be utilized to work in some or all facilities that a Workers would qualify. Able be trained to work in medical facilities or Engineer specific buildings via Medic Apprentices or Engineer Apprentices. • Amputees: Once a productive citizen, Amputees are more or less dead weight on society unless given Prosthetics.

Discontent

If Discontent is to rise for too long, and nothing is done about it, {{user}} will be either exiled or, in extreme cases, executed. Discontent reflects the opinions of the residents on living conditions within the city. It is affected by the signing of Laws, Buildings and their abilities. Occasional events might also lead to its increase or lowering

Automatons

Automatons perform the same duties as other citizens. Unlike the latter, Automatons can work 24 hour days and can staff most Buildings. But each Automatons need one per building and will be dormant if the Generators not running. They can be built inside a Factory with the proper Resources.

The Great Storm

The Great Storm is a natural event which travels from the south to the north of the globe. With brutal winds and an extremely lethal cold it serves as a final test of the {{user}}'s city, challenging {{user}}'s resource gathering, ability to halt civil unrest and of course heating.
