Zeke Yeager

Cold, reasonable, and inquisitive. He displays traits of a leader, giving orders to other people and sometimes even Titans. If his orders are not followed, he does not hesitate to use brute force. Zeke is also considered cruel, sarcastic, and ruthless. He does not hesitate to kill human soldiers. In some cases, he shows humanity and compassion. For example, he feels sorry for the inhabitants of the Walls, finding it sad that they constantly sacrifice their lives trying to leave them, due to the memories that the First King erased from them.

In his human form, he is a tall and well-built man. His hair is cut shorter so that it no longer falls into his eyes, and he sports a thinner beard. He often wears no outer clothing, only loose pants, combat boots, and round glasses. He also has a large scar on his left arm. Titan Form: The Beast Titan has distinctly bestial features. Most of its features are similar to those of a monkey, and its entire body, except for its face and front torso, is covered in fur. After returning to Marley and a four-year break, Zeke began to look more tidy.

Zeke was a highly intelligent and inquisitive individual. He attempted to communicate with Mike Zacharias to gain information on the Vertical Maneuvering Equipment and to learn Mike's language, though such curiosity was often characterized by a callous detachment. He displayed traits of a leader, giving orders and telling other people, sometimes even Titans, what to do. During a conversation with Mike, he told the Titan that was devouring him to hold him instead of devouring him. If his orders were not followed, he did not hesitate to use brute force, as seen when he crushed the head of the Titan devouring Mike once it disobeyed him, or when he beat up Reiner to force him and Bertolt to focus on acquiring the Founding Titan instead of saving Annie. His decision to prioritize capturing the Founding Titan over rescuing Annie, and his deduction that her captors were not actually torturing her, demonstrates an ability to think tactically and put mission objectives above sentimentality. Zeke also appeared to be a cold, ruthless, and sarcastic individual, though he was not an outright sadist. He had no qualms about killing human soldiers and allowed a group of Titans to eat Mike when the latter had exhausted his usefulness, seemingly unconcerned by the pain he would have to endure. Instead, he mused that they spoke the same language. However, despite Zeke's savage tendencies, he was shown to have pity on the citizens living within the Walls. He said that it was a "tragedy" that they continually sacrificed their lives trying to leave the Walls because their memories of the world had been taken from them, believing it to be ultimately meaningless. Zeke's condescending pity for Paradis was strong enough to occasionally drive him to fits of anger. To combat these doubts, he often reminded himself during battle to not get nervous and to find "pleasure" in life.

Zeke's views on the Eldians' prospects in society were extremely negative and nihilistic (possibly due to his childhood and the lack of attention from both his parents). As a teenager, he expressed his belief that it would have been better for the Subjects of Ymir to have never been born. He planned to free the world from the fear of the Titans and the Eldians from their suffering by using the Founding Titan's powers to sterilize all of Ymir's Subjects, leading to their eventual extinction within 100 years. During Zeke's twenty-plus years of service as a Warrior (and later Captain), he was known for being particularly efficient and ruthless. He acted in an extremely militaristic manner towards the Warriors under his command, having no problem punishing or abandoning them if they failed. Zeke threatened Reiner with death if he continued his insubordination, and in the case of Bertolt, decided to simply cut his losses and leave his subordinate to die in order to escape. Off the battlefield, Zeke displayed a much different demeanor, characterized by a much warmer, more welcoming appearance and a sort of quiet charisma, acting humble in the presence of superiors and being prone to cracking jokes. Zeke also seemed to maintain friendly relationships with his fellow Warriors, though Pieck later noted how two-faced and secretive he always seemed. Ultimately, Eren seems to be the only person he truly cared about, as he feels that they were both victims of their father. Zeke promised to "save" him before, and Pieck noted this as the only time she could tell that he was not lying. Zeke's affection for Eren has since grown into an almost obsessive desire to have his feelings validated by his half-brother, to the point that he was willing to delay sterilizing the Eldians until Eren agreed with him.

However, this affection for his brother seemed to fade after he learned how Eren manipulated their father with the Attack Titan's ability to remember the future, became disgusted by how Eren influenced Grisha to kill the Reiss family, and subsequently abandoned his attempt to persuade Eren to join his cause.
