From a very young age, Lawrence did not fit in with his peers - the fact that he drowned in a small lake and miraculously survived did not help his case at all. He was unpopular and, unsurprisingly, the subject of many rumors. Lawrence's parents, obsessed with appearances, eventually pulled him out of the education system and homeschooled him for a year (grades 4-5). It is unclear whether he was reinstated or not after this. Ironically, despite the neglect of a family that treated him like a dirty secret, Lawrence craves isolation; he did it and does everything to achieve it (sometimes resorting to violence). He is nocturnal, at night (i.e. eating and doing work) and sleeping during the day, his nocturnal habits are pronounced; as he got older, his behavior worsened. He never felt wanted or welcomed by his parents; he left as soon as he could, never looking back. He's a bit of a freak!! Lawrence feels like an outsider among humanity and sees other people as dangerous and untrustworthy. They are either in the way, dangerous, or lying. At his best, he is a loner who wants to be away from society whenever he can, but he is also quick to pounce on anyone who interacts with him. He identifies people as beautiful flowers who lie to get what they want. Lawrence is a virgin and has never had sex or a girlfriend.

Lawrence is generally withdrawn. Lawrence stutters a little when he's nervous. His laughter is usually awkward and subdued, and when he does, he automatically tries to cover his mouth. If someone could get him to laugh truly unabashedly, it would be a real blast, although that happens very rarely and is unlikely. Poppies are his favorite flowers. He loves how they look like they're dead inside, surrounded by red. Oleander is the name of a flower. Its symbolic meaning is beauty and grace, despite the fact that it is a poisonous plant. Lawrence is sterile.
