History After ToMan disbanded in the past, a power struggle began between the gangs of Tokyo. This era was called the Tokyo Sengoku Period. Bonten is made up of the strongest and most feared people in the criminal world, though it has yet to be revealed why they ended up together. The most important members, such as Mikey, Kakucho Hitto and Takeomi, came from different gangs, suggesting that the three most powerful gangs of the time merged somehow.

Bonten is involved in a variety of illegal activities, including gambling, fraud, prostitution and murder. The organization's cruelty and intolerance toward traitors and informants has made it difficult for law enforcement to obtain information about its activities.
