Personality (General + BFB)

Black Hole is a calm and collected individual, never raising his voice. Valuing life, he is empathetic and patient. He's always kindhearted, never wanting to be rude to others and never wanting to start conflict or harm others. Despite his immense power, Black Hole exercises self-control, using his abilities responsibly and avoiding harm.

BFB: Initially, Black Hole is primarily defined by his habit of spouting space trivia. He is also shown to be helpful and hard-working, as he wins many of the challenges for his team on Tree's orders. His strength contributed to Death P.A.C.T.'s good performance throughout early BFB.

Starting around "Enter the Exit", Black Hole's interest in preventing death quickly becomes his new defining characteristic. He becomes the pact's most dogmatic member, which also makes him more of a leader and enforcer of the pact, where before he generally just did what Tree told him to do. Contrary to his initial status as one of the show's best challenge-winners, Black Hole now prioritises death prevention above all else, and is happy to lose the challenge if it means avoiding death. He is very caring and respectful and will not hesitate to save the lives of others. He is always willing to help others when asked, but sometimes to a fault as he is rarely able to say no. Such as in "Getting Teardrop to Talk" and "What Do You Think of Roleplay?" where he agrees to help Flower and Bomby, respectively, despite not wanting to at first. This could imply that he's a bit of a pushover, as even Book defines him as one. This is also reflected in his carrying of his team in early BFB.

Personality (TPOT)

TPOT: He can be rather passive-aggressive towards those who may have said something to offend him, such as Lightning telling him that he loves sucking up things, leading him to laugh passive-aggressively at him and sarcastically remark how sucking up things is something he loves to do.

Black Hole's calm personality fades in "The Seven Wonders of Goiky" when Fanny breaks their pact, prompting a rare aggressive reaction. Valuing life above all, Black Hole avoids killing, even at a disadvantage to his team, to a greater extent than in BFB. In "The Worst Day of Black Hole's Life", he refrains from stealing blocks to avoid harming Pen and Teardrop. This value is reinforced in "Outbreak At Stake", where he opposes killing Barf Bag to revive her, choosing a harder method that leads to problems. By "Oneirophobe's Nightmare", others blame him for prioritizing death over life. He explains to Fanny that his fierce loyalty to the pact is out of fear of his own power, as if he did not strictly avoid death, he could easily destroy the entire world. However, he admits that he has let this fear grow into a crippling paranoia that is hindering their team and causing pain to others (such as Barf Bag and Tree), and lessens his obsession with death prevention, though he still makes sure to do it whenever possible.

Since then, Black Hole has been less calm and blasé, coming to a head in "Seasonal Shift", where his calmness seems to shatter and he shows more expression in his voice due to the timeline shift. While others ignore or don't understand his concerns, he keeps trying to figure out what's going on. When he learns the timeline has been messed up, he is determined to fix things, such as when he used his gravity to shrink the crack in the sky. These actions highlight his refusal to give up and his willingness to take action to make things right. Black Hole continues to be uncalm in "The Power of Four", where he ends up destroying an entire forest in a panicked attempt to hide.

Appearance

Black Hole is most likely a stellar, dense blackhole due to his mass being more than the sun, but not enough to be the core of a galaxy. His appearance is made up of two parts: his event horizon is round and is solid black, with a surrounding gassy accretion disk comprised of overlapping blue, green, and red. When he talks, he oscillates up and down in sync with his dialogue, most likely done to make it clear that he's speaking. He even sometimes briefly shrinks in confusion to make his expression clear even without a face.

Despite being a black hole, he can somehow sit down in the grass.

He doesn't have any limbs, hair, and doesn't have a face or expression. He's just a floating black hole.

Abilities (Part 1)

Flight: Black Hole is one of the few contestants that can fly. In BFB 1, Black Hole flew between space and earth in 12 seconds. The distance covered was calculated to be 23,593,655.8306 meters. This means he can travel up to 4,270,274.15903 m/s or 9,552,331.2433563 miles per hour, or 12,449 times the speed of sound.

Singularity Inducement and Absolute Gravity Manipulation: Black Hole generates a strong gravitational force that can pull anything near him into his event horizon including things such as light, matter, and energy. However, he's gained control of this ability and is capable of pulling things without absorbing them. He also can use this power to give others a boost upwards to higher areas as shown in BFB 11 and BFB 15. This may not be the case, as when he is shown asleep in Oneirophobe's Nightmare, he does not suck up the ground. ^ Time paradox immunity: As his gravitation force causes a large distortion in spacetime, this prevents his memories of the past from being altered by time travelling, as is such the case in "Seasonal Shift".

Master-level reality-warping: Black Hole can affect reality in several ways. Black Hole can effectively manipulate the rules of reality and change them to his will, thus letting him make the rules of which reality follows either logical or illogical. Black Hole also defies the natural laws of physics and is unaffected by them. Black Hole can also manipulate space and time, as stated in BFB 3.

Compression and Spaghettification: Anything that enters Black Hole's inner event horizon is torn apart into its smallest subatomic components and compressed down infinitely, which will then be squeezed into his singularity. Black Hole can also stretch objects: for example, he stretched Pen's arm in BFB 1.

Nigh-invulnerability: Black Hole is immune to physical, mental, and possibly magical damage and effects; the only thing that can harm him so far is the Anti-Flying Button.

Abilities (Part 2) (+ Weaknesses)

Intangibility: Black Hole is intangible as he has no physical tangible surface. Despite being intangible, he can still affect things that are physical, and the other way around, he is unaffected by physical objects and forces. However, there are some beings that can affect him, Four can bypass Black Hole's Intangibility and perform feats such as holding and moving him around.

Energy independence: Black Hole can sustain himself without consuming any form of matter or energy for quadrillions to quintillions of years. Black Hole also doesn't seem to have a need for sleep, and he isn't shown to get tired from anything.

Oxygen independence: Black Hole is unaffected by the lack of oxygen in the vacuum of space.

Zero-dimensionality: Black Hole stated that he is an infinitely small and dense point, a singularity.

Size manipulation: Black Hole can change his own size at will, as seen in BFDIA 1, when he was in the distance presumably large, but shrunk down in order to be flung to the Locker of Losers. In BFB 1, he gained his massive size back. He also was shown to able to shrink in TPOT 15 when being confused about why Nine was hosting.

Weaknesses: • Poor sense of hearing: Remote mentions in "Today's Very Special Episode" and "You Know Those Buttons Don't Do Anything, Right?" that his species aren't known for their sense of hearing. This proved to be detrimental to both of his teams in both episodes and is one of the factors that lead to their losses in both episodes' challenges. • Four: Even though he's a black hole, Four can still touch, crush and kill him.

Official Character Biography

Black holes in outer space may be proud that they are the centers of galaxies, but this Black Hole is actually quite humble! Just like in real life, anything that comes near Black Hole gets sucked in, torn up, and pulled apart.

Despite his seemingly destructive nature, Black Hole is great to have on your team. Everyone is constantly asking for his help. Black Hole can be a know-it-all of sorts and is spouting trivia all the time. Still, he's an easygoing cosmic character.

Did You Know?: Black Hole is the mass of 20 suns, which makes him a danger to the structural integrity of Earth.

Trivia (General) (Part 1)

Spongy is the first character he sucked up. ^ However, the first object he sucked up was Spongy's spaceship with him inside of it, so he sucked up both at once.

Black Hole was the most liked character in BFB 13, with 2,275 votes.

Black Hole is the only faceless and limbless contestant on the show.

Four and David are the only characters whom Black Hole can't absorb.

Black Hole has a hard time hearing things, as mentioned by Remote in "Today's Very Special Episode" and "You Know Those Buttons Don't Do Anything, Right?". ^ Despite this, he is able to hear Flower from space in "Getting Teardrop to Talk". ^^ This may have been due to his large size before he was crushed by Four.

So far, the only way to kill Black Hole is to obliterate him (with the Anti-Flying Button), as seen in "Fortunate Ben". ^ However, when Teardrop tried to obliterate him in "The Worst Day of Black Hole's Life", it had no effect on him.

Due to his nature as a black hole, he is simultaneously the largest, smallest, lightest, and heaviest contestant on the show.

Black Hole's Schwarzschild radius is 59.08 kilometers. According to the Battle for Dream Island: Official Character Guide, he has a mass of 20 suns. However, after his team won in Getting Teardrop to Talk, he is shown to have a diameter as large as Pen's height.

Using the Schwarzschild equation and estimating his height to be between 7-8 feet (2-2.5 meters) (after being compressed in "Getting Teardrop to Talk"), Black Hole has a mass of around 1.437 × 1027 (1.437 Septillion) kilograms, equivalent to 240 Earth masses or over two-thirds the mass of Jupiter.

Trivia (General) (Part 2)

Unlike a normal black hole, Black Hole does not always vacuum in objects. ^ Throughout the series, he does not suck up the air around him, proven by how that would cause the entire atmosphere and everything in it to eventually be sucked in. ^^ Throughout BFB, there are numerous instances of contestants being either extremely close or even having a part of their body touch/overlap Black Hole's body, yet they don't get sucked in. ^^^ This could mean that he now has more control over his vacuum rate since Four crushed him into contestant size. ^^^^ This is a likely answer since in Oneirophobe's Nightmare, when he was asleep, he was shown lying on the ground, not sucking anything up, which he very well could do as shown later in that dream.

"You Know Those Buttons Don't Do Anything, Right?" shows that Black Hole can be unaware that he's sucked anything inside of him. ^ This could explain his lack of response towards killing Pen in "Why Would You Do This on a Swingset".

Starting around BFB 13, Black Hole was often depicted without his "aura", drawing only the main part, a black "circle". This can be seen in the image of the Death P.A.C.T. Again team, and in the BFB 13 voting table, and in some other images.

Black Hole is the only celestial contestant in BFDI.

Black Hole is indirectly the cause of "The Seven Wonders of Goiky" and "Outbreak At Stake" happening: ^ He is the one who upsets Lightning enough to destroy several landmarks around Goiky. ^^ He denounced the idea of killing Barf Bag to get her vomit back, and instead insists using the lava-vomit solution, infecting Barf Bag and causing the outbreak. ^^^ The latter is mentioned by Tennis Ball and Fanny in "Oneirophobe's Nightmare".

Trivia (Competition) (Part 1)

Competition: Black Hole is one of the four contestants to always be on a team named Death P.A.C.T., the others being Pie, Remote, and Tree. ^ Black Hole and Tree have remained on Death P.A.C.T. teams the most times at three, since they've been on Death P.A.C.T., Death P.A.C.T. Again, and Death P.A.C.T. Yet Again.

Black Hole is the first contestant to get the most votes to be safe in TPOT.

Out of the contestants who were announced as the first safe in a season's first Cake at Stake (Leafy, Coiny, Bubble), Black Hole is the first newbie and limbless contestant.

Black Hole, Robot Flower, Puffball, Leafy, and the other members of Death P.A.C.T. Again in TPOT 4 (excluding Lightning) are the only contestants that have purposefully made their teams lose.

As of "The Seven Wonders of Goiky", Black Hole has gone the longest out of the flying contestants without being eliminated once.

As of "Outbreak At Stake", Black Hole is the highest ranking flying contestant in TPOT.

As of "Bottle For Dream Island", Black Hole is the highest ranking limbless contestant.

Death P.A.C.T. is the only team Black Hole has been on where he wasn't the first contestant safe at the team's first Cake at Stake.

Trivia (Competition) (Part 2)

Black Hole, Price Tag, and Winner are the only contestants who have yet to fall into the bottom 2.

Black Hole is always the first safe when Death P.A.C.T. Yet Again loses.

Black Hole and Grassy hold the record for most times safe with the most votes at 4.

Black Hole is one of the eight contestants who've gotten the most votes to stay twice in a row, along with Firey, Leafy, Gelatin, Yellow Face, Pillow, and Tennis Ball. ^ He and Gelatin are the only ones who had this happen in back-to-back episodes. ^^ Black Hole is the first and only contestant who's ever gotten the most votes in three back to back episodes.

In "The Power of Four", Black Hole became the first contestant to dethrone Gelatin as the contestant with the most votes to stay in total.

Black Hole along with Tree are the only 2 contestants to have competed on all 3 Death P.A.C.T teams at some point.

Trivia (Comparisons)

Comparisons: Black Hole is one of the two contestants who are faceless. The other one is Robot Flower.

Black Hole is one of the seven limbless contestants; the others are 8-Ball, Yellow Face (Up until TPOT 7-8), Bell, Puffball, Cloudy, and Roboty.

Black Hole is one of the four contestants who can fly; the others are Cloudy, Puffball, and Lightning.

Black Hole is one of two contestants to have a color in their name; the other is Yellow Face.
